When doing a marketing campaign, even if it's just e-mail marketing, we need to know how to communicate and to who the message is directed to. If we are capable to do so we will advertise in a way more effective way. How to do this though?

Please explain me the inbound marketing definition and how to do it the best ways.

Hi there!

In very simple terms, it's when you create content / value good enough so that the potential customers / clients find you, not vice versa (and then decide to become your customers).

And the best way to do it? I think there's more than one way to skin a cat, should you google inbound marketing you'd find a lot of info out there. All of the info I found so far, however, could be summarized by:

" Content is king. "

Regards,

Oliver

Inbound marketing is the exact opposite of outbound marketing, which is the traditional way of advertising a product: basically, as loliveroliver has said, it's based on customers/viewers finding you instead of you going after them. It has become the most popular marketing tool on the Internet, and it's fated to completely overshadow traditional marketing in the next few years. Why? Here are a few reasons:
  • They will be attracted by the content you post: If they find you, it means you have what they want. They're not there because they got fooled by some ads, and this will make them stay there for a longer time. It creates a more loyal fanbase. This is one of the main marketing choices to achieve permission marketing (as opposed to the classic interruption marketing, which is the one used by outbound marketing).
  • It makes use of the most recent marketing techniques: We're going to list them next, so I won't spend much time here. The thing is, times are changing, and people are starting to trust banners, classical ads and commercials less and less, so trying to get into a new kind of marketing will definitely help you.
  • It's cheaper: Printing ads or buying advertising space on a newspaper is clearly more expensive than increasing your content's quality or improving your rank on web researches. It will take some thought, but it's more affordable and more effective.
Now, let's have a look at the main things you'll have to care about to advertise your website with inbound marketing:

  • Improve your content: This is the obvious point. It's the very base of inbound marketing, and you won't get anywhere without it. Think of what a viewer may want, when creating content: does it answer every fundamental question they may think of? Is it useful? Could they find the very same things in another, maybe more popular website?
You have to offer unique content. This is why inbound marketing works so well with creative topics or self-made stuff. Just try to be interesting.
  • Search Engine Optimization: So, now that you have all your nice content set up, how can people find it? They google it, of course; but, chances are you won't score very high there. You may appear on the second or even third page, at first, if not worse, and we all know most people won't bother looking past the first page. Now, how do we make sure we appear among the first results?
SEO is based on a lot of factors, but the most important ones are:
    • Keywords, keywords, keywords: Google is entirely based on keywords, so just use them. You can implement them through HTML metatags (you can set up a lot of things with them, and keywords are among them). Use relevant keywords, and use as many of them as you can. Use both generic and specific ones, it helps the search engine classify your content better.
    • HTML Meta tags: I have just mentioned them with keywords, but they're used for much more than that: content type, content language, page description and page title. Page description is especially useful: it's the one that appears under the page title on Google search results, and it can attract a lot of viewers (its maximum length is about a tweet's length, so try to be brief but clear).
    • HTML Open graphs (or "social tags"): They're just like meta tags, but for social media. You can set the title, the image and the little description that appears when you link a page on a social media. Since social media advertising is another great tool used by inbound marketing (we're going to have a better look at it next), you should set them up properly.
    • Keep an eye on your page's load speed: The faster a page loads, the better it will score on Google search results. To find out how good your page's load speed is, try Google PageSpeed Insights: it gives any website two scores, one for desktop and one for mobile, based on how well structured the code is and how optimized it is. It will tell you what to do and what to fix, so don't worry. Having a good score on it (85 or higher) will significantly help SEO.
  • Search Engine Marketing: I know what you're thinking: "Aren't SEO and SEM the same thing?". Well, the difference is implicit in their name: in the former, you're just optimizing what you already have; in the latter, you're advertising it on purpose.
It's a little more complicated than SEO, but the core concept is the same: improve your search rank. Again, let's list its main points:
    • Acquire data: Marketing always needs some data to work on, and so should you. Google Analitics will do the work. Implement it on your website and analize your traffic: what kind of content increases visitors? Are there any peaks, and what are they based on? Time, maybe, or topics? Where do most of your visitors come from? This can lead you to the right track.
    • Free advertising: Before we jump on the paid advertising bandwagon, we can try out some free alternatives, like the good ol' word of mouth. Ask your friends to spread the word, and hope it forks enough, or try to ask a favor to some bigger pages. However, if this doesn't work, go to the next point.
    • Paid advertising: Same concept as newspaper advertising space, but on the Internet (which automatically makes it better, right?). Google AdWords or Bing Ads will do the trick.
  • Social Media Marketing: In the old days (well, maybe not so old, but hey, we gotta look forward), TV and newspapers were marketing's bread and butter: they gave access to a very large batch of people of all ages and of both genders, and, by statistics' laws, you would have always found a potential, interested customer. However, nowadays, they're getting less effective: what has replaced them? Social medias, of course. If you search any modern business's name on Google, the very first results will most likely be their website and, soon after, their Facebook page.
You can't use them alone, but they're great to keep in touch with customers/fans, and they'll help you build a reliable reputation (just think about it: some of the most appreciated companies all over the world, like Amazon, for instance, all have a great customer service). Use them alongside a full-fledged website and you should be good to go.
Hope it helped!

Mode of communication matters alot in marketing, nobody would listen to an abusive marketer or a marketing information that's abusive in nature. In marketing appropriate decent words should be used to convey all information about the products, services and brands.

Again if it a product for children, then it should be marketed in an enticing way and if possible a song or music accompanied the product but for adult it should be of persuading and information.

Kids just want to have things because they have seen it,it doesn't matter if it useful or not but adult would always want to have valuable for their money,so they'll really need to see reasons why they should purchase such or any thing.
