Spare5 Overview
Spare5 is a GPT site and iOS App that pays its community members to perform various micro tasks on behalf of its clients. One of the company's main functions is to use human skills in training artificial intelligence (AI) models to be more intelligent. Spare5 has worked with some of the well known brands such as Microsoft, IBM, Sentient Technologies, GoPro, Pinterest, and Expedia.

Getting Started
Anyone age 18 and over can create an account with Spare5. Registration can be done through one of several social media accounts or by email address. After account creation, you will be required to provide some basic information such as age, gender and address. This information will be used to pair you with available tasks. These tasks can be completed either by logging into their website or by using the App which currently only available for iOS devices.

The Tasks
Tasks are sectioned into the following categories:

Assess Language
Here you will be listening to audio voice recordings and describing the content, tone, meaning, and speaker attitude.

Annotate Images
This task requires viewing images and labeling the different elements.

Isolate Elements
For this task you will be selecting the edges of elements to separate them from the rest of the image.

Provide Keywords
This task is simply tagging photos using appropriate keywords. This information is used to train computers on how to interpret images.

The Pay System
The minimum payout is set at $1. This setting can be adjusted on the dashboard of your account if you desire to be paid at a larger amount. Payments are sent via PayPal every Friday.

Referral System
Under the Refer-a-Friend program, you can earn up to $20. Every time your referral earns $10, you will receive a $2 bonus, and the referral will receive $1. This will continue until they have earned their first $100 or through their first 180 days. Your referral link will be activated when you have received $10 in payouts.

Yeah they are and requires our complete attention as well so we cannot even relax for a minute while performing task. I still will try to rejoin Spare5 sometime soon to check if i qualify for some easy surveys.

Are you referring to Scale API? Some members say they earn pretty well, though tasks are really tough. If you are referring to Spare5, I think everything was already said about that website.

Wow my friend. You are really good at tasks. Though, that was quite little. an evidence it is not easy to earn on Spare5. I suggest you try Scale API. It has some test to do before working on some jobs.

I tried scale api but I never passed any of the qualifications. The qualification test ends so fast or maybe the passing accuracy is to high to achieve. After 2 tries of taking the qualification tests, I did not bother to visit the site again. lol

Congratulations buddy on your yet another payment from Spare5. As like Crowdflower Elite i am not much lucky on there and quit the website. But i am planning to make a come back there. Hope i get some easy tasks there to earn some money. Even 2 dollars is a nice amount.

I've received several payments from Spare5. But lately all they have are those outlining tasks which I don't like - I waste too much time to complete those tasks and the pay is not that good. I usually do the qualifier and then do just the review tasks where you have to check other users completed tasks.

Thanks! Yeah, I agree with you the rate is very low. The pay per task is just $.01 for bounding boxes. Sometimes, they do offer Final Improvements tasks where you get to review other's work and that usually pay up to $.20 to $1 but I only get those tasks very rarely.

Congratulations to your earnings.I signed up too on Spare5,but after a few days I left the site,because there were few tasks and it would take up a lot of time to reach the minimum cashout.

Thanks, yeah that's actually true. It will really take time for us to earn in spare 5 but if we get lucky and have a lot of tasks then it will be easier for us to reach the minimum cash out every week though.

Thanks! Yeah, I agree with you the rate is very low. The pay per task is just $.01 for bounding boxes. Sometimes, they do offer Final Improvements tasks where you get to review other's work and that usually pay up to $.20 to $1 but I only get those tasks very rarely.

Yeah, I did read reviews that the tasks way back were at higher rate. Maybe because a lot of people are now using spare 5 and they have to leverage by reducing the pay per task.

As for scale api, yes there is a timer and I always timed out which makes me fail the test all the time. So, I just moved on with that site and just stick with other alternatives like spare 5 and crowdflower.

I totally agree with you that the tasks in Scaleapi are really hard especially the exams.
But I disagree with you when you say they pay less.
Scaleapi pays you by the time you spent on doing the task. And the lowest rate you can have is $1.5/hour. So that means you earn $0.025 per minute you spent on a task if you did the task correctly. If you made some mistake on the task, your earning will be deducted dependent on how many mistakes you made. But still you get paid on every task even if it's not completely correct. For example, on the image annotation-streets tasks, you can spend up to 5 minutes in a single image. 5 minutes * $0.025 = $0.125 per image. Thats the largest I encountered so far. Just don't spend too much time on a task making it obvious that you're just prolonging the time to get higher rate. They will give you a performance issue if you did.
Plus there is this new task, segmentation task where you can earn $2 per image...

I think as you mentioned, they have added more tasks now for us.Its most of the times difficult to get used to a website as it will take us some time to getting used to it. Actually i heard some are earning about 30-50 dollars in a week there.

That's nice to know. What is scaleapi? Is it a different website or a part of spare5? I never heard about it. Also your explanation motivated me to rejoin Spare5 and i will try to work hard there as well or i will quit that for ever i won't be able to earn anything.

Oh sorry. I thought you knew about scaleapi. In the other thread where someone mentioned scaleapi and you quoted his post... so I quoted your post too and I thought you are talking about scaleapi.
Scaleapi also known as Remotasks, is not related to Spare5 but both are great sites where you can earn money by doing tasks. I think someone already made a thread here about Remostasks/scaleapi..just search it..

Yeah. I remember I earned some dollars in a week on Spare5.
The timer is also the reason why I failed the test on Scale API. I have no idea until what extent answering should be.
