The rare and expensive pearl shaped diamond is worth $15m and weighs about 101.38 carats and will be up for auction next month. It is historical because this is the first time ever, Sotheby's would be accepting Cryptocurrencies for such an expensive item.

I believe this is symbolic, happening at a time when the markets are so low and many coins have declined so much in price. Hopefully, this keeps the faith of people in cryptocurrencies as a universal currency.

unfortunately the deal of $12.3m has been settled in fiat. But still having the chance to bit at Sotheby's in BTC is a huge step and shows the disruptive power of crypto currency. I am very confided that soon we will see a huge auction getting paid in crypto.

This is a great way for them to enter into cryptocurrency market. I believe if it wasn't for the bearish period we are in , a lot of people will surely want to buy it with their crypto

$15m diamond up for grabs that's a huge one and I'm sure this auction will happen so fast abd it will be taken already. This goes to show that people can accept crypto payment for their treasures now because they know they will gain a lot from it when they hold for a while before selling. The crypto world is moving to where it was expected to be in the next 5-10 years. I'm just the blue print is here.

It is very symbolic, for one highly overvalued thing (jewel), to pay with exactly the same thing, but only of no high price at all (bitcoin, it is useless in principle, will eventually die out like dinosaurs).

They should use stable coin like USDT for dealing with expensive auction items like jewelry. A small price fluctuation can wreck up the crypto they use, considering how auction typically takes some time to wrap up. But I guess they already knew this.

Your last line got me are you saying with time that BTC or other cryptocurrency will die off. buy I'm not seeing this happening I don't why maybe it's just me being very confident but I don't see any dying with them. I envisage people even accepting it more

I think even if the market is not moving so high like that ,I think news like this plays a major factor in improving the demand of cryptocurrency , because when people get to know about cryptocurrency ,they would want to invest , I like to see institution like this fascilitating development
