Scribie is a transcription company that hires people to transcribe audio files into word documents. This is a simple way to earn money online if you like this type of work. Earning money from a transcription company will require you to have excellent typing skills and listening skills. You will be listening to audio tapes and typing up what people have said in a word document.

How Does It Work?

• You can go to their website and register an account.
• Like all transcribing companies, there is a test that you'll need to take.
• This will require you to listen to an audio tape and transcribe the tape.
• Each company has their own way of transcribing the audio files.
• The company supplies you with a set of instruction to follow in order to transcribe this tape.
• You must listen to the tape and pass the test in order to be accepted by the company.
• If you don't pass the test the first time, don't worry. You will have10 chances to pass this test. This is the only company I have run across that allows you so many opportunities to pass the test.
• If you fail the test, the company is very helpful. They will send you back the test and mark the test on why you failed. They will give you plenty of help to pass this test and understand what they want. So don't worry too much about the test, they are there to help you with this.
• Once you're accepted it is easy to find work on this site.
• They have jobs listed that you can accept and transcribe.
• You are free to work your own hours and do as much work as you want.
• Many people will treat this as a full-time or part-time work at home opportunity.

How Do You Earn?

• You are paid by the audio hour, and not how long it takes you to transcribe the tape.
• If the tape is 10 minutes long you will only earn a fraction of the pay for transcribing this tape.
• The company requires that you have a PayPal account and this is how they pay you.

This is a great company. Just make sure you calculate the audio minutes and how much you'll earn before taking a job. Once you get proficient at this work and can transcribe the tape quicker it will make it much easier to earn money with this company.

How long it takes depends on you. If you can type fast and listen well, it doesn't take much time at all because if I remember correctly there's only a few minutes of audio. And you don't have any time limit or at least that's how it was when I took it :)

But are you aware what you may receive in the tests, i mean what are you expecting from the questionnaire. I hope they don't ask about our personal details or it may be like humanatic or may be extended version of them which may ask about your working profile and if you are contradictory to there requirements than they may refuse your proposal. Anyways, Hope they accept you and you can share more about that.

As reviews I read here, I can understand that this is a good site for thosevwho can actually work like scribes.
But it is not for someone like me, because I hardly do that.

I was trying very hard to join Humanatic and actually tried multiple times but they rejected my proposal every time on the Employment history thing and feels its contradictory with there requirements even when i changed it many a times. I think humanatic is better then scribie and you can join that and can even earn 10 dollars a day from them. Hope you do well and share your progress with us.

Really? Well, I went back to their site(humanatic), still havent found any task that is available. That $10 dollars on scribie is equivalent to 1hr audio transcription if I am not mistaken, and that take long hours of working.

You're right buddy. So does that mean you're already a member of humanatic. Then I feel you have more chances of earning quicker and try to manage your time on there as well as you can easily achieve 5-10 dollars in some hours but I am not much confident about Scribie as i am not much aware about that and haven't seen many payment proofs.

Yesterday I checked on my emails and found scribie.com email for the transcription test. I played some file but most are not clear to listen, I think I need some tool to reduce the background noise.

Sorry buddy mixed on the other thread, I was talking about usability test not humanatics. Anyway, I have not taking the test on scribie yet, I will use laptop then try the dictation app that I have downloaded yesterday.

And i am glad you are at least trying to move on and try different websites which will help you to earn more from different websites and will help you to become more proactive and productive at the same time. This happen to me most of the time. I have not receive any test yet on usabilityhub, some said it takes couple of days before they send it, so I am just waiting. Hopefully they send it soon.

I think you can even work like a translator as its one of the happening jobs these days and you can earn very good amount from that. The only thing you require is fluency and confidence which you already have in abundance.

I am still not taking the test on scribie. I read that I can wait if I want more files to choose from. I wont waste the chance. Though I feel little unconfident about this because before, I also applied on a transcription site but unfortunately, i didnt get approved.

They are open to other country too. I am just not sure if there is an exeption. You can try it out, you just need your paypal account to link and will automatically fill the information for sign up.
