• You can also join the site's revenue sharing program and share the revenue from the ads the site posts on your hub.
• Join in the contest and earn money for writing about a specific topic the site selects. This is a great way to increase your revenue on the site if you win the contest.
• There is a referral program that you can join. You can add your referral links to other hubs and share them. If a person visits this hub, you'll earn 10% of the impressions during the time the person is on the site.
• As long as you keep your account open and the posts in your account, you will continue to earn money from the impressions that you receive when a person visit your pages.

Payment:

Each month on the 28th, the site sends your earnings to your PayPal account. You must have PayPal in order to be paid by the site.

But i heard from some of my friends that they are earning well from Hub pages. So have you joined this website and were you able to earn from them anytime. Actually we all are different and some websites work for you and others for me but i'm sure its a legit one.

I used to write for Hubpages on health issues before I gave up after applying for Adsense after which I received feedback that I was in beta stage. Then again, the fall of Squidoo sent jitters. The recent lowering of index of content farms by Google has impacted on similar sites, or is it ?

I found Hubpages can get very elitist - they often chop long standing articles without offering an explanation. If you ask why they just send you their entire list of possible violations and ask you to work out which one you might have broken. Sometimes they spot one error in one article and then close everything a writer submitted until it has been re-edited even if posts have been well received. I just found them annoying in the end.

I haven't written for HubPages in the last few years, but they are definitely legit. At one point, I did cash in $100 + change -- but it took months for me to get there! Any legal topic is acceptable. I might've made more, and quicker, if my Hubs (their term for articles) had been more commercial/SEO oriented. My account is still active, and I may return. But for me, it was a passive, occasional windfall sort of deal, rather than a steady or predictable source of income. YMMV.

(I did not have to take a test. Don't know if that has changed.All Hubs are reviewed, and periodically re-reviewed, for acceptability. That has definitely not changed.)

I am not even earning 12$ a month as of now. If I could even earn 1$ a day nfrom there that would be good. But requires too much writing. And writing long articles. that too something that people are searching for. so it requires a lot of interesting things on there. and not something I'd be interested in puting on the web as of now. I have account 10 articles there since 2010. And those are not much edited. I think I need to come up with new topics and the ideas. And that should be another thing we need to discuss when it comes to earning. They have some really good traffic on their platform. So we can surely add some really good content and let the search engines work on their own. You can see that they share 60% of the traffic views with us. So not bad.

Things changed a lot. You have to write a lot for this website now in order to make some decent money. also the articles need to be high in numbers. so as to get accepted. I have seen some of the hubpages users getting their articles featured. and it does help in that case.
