❓ASK Can someone STEAL your Bitcoins?

I don't know much about Bitcoins, to be frank I don't even have a Bitcoin wallet or how they call it.

Is possible that someone could steal your Bitcoins from your account?

Buying, selling and exchanging BTC are not allowed in our home country. However, we can create BTC wallets and send and receive BTC through out BTC wallet. I have an account on Coinbase. I don't think it is easy to steal BTC from our wallet. Coinbase account is so secure that even it someone tries to log inot your account, it wll notify that the device and the IP is ne so we need verify that it is us who is trying to log into the coinbase account.

It can be possible in a way - it depends a lot on the site. At least that's what I read. For a while I was thinking about opening a BitCoin wallet but it seemed way too difficult for me to even try out since you need to remember the exact URL your wallet is linked to, and if you lose it your money is gone forever. I mean of course they need to have security for their web since it's a trusted method to pay among internet users, but I personally don't find it to be something I need to try out.

In a word, yes. That's one of the main reasons I don't still yet trust any form of digital currencies. Now I know that especially in recent months, Bitcoin as become a lot more popular, but as of yet it's still unregulated and the fact a site can just simply disappear overnight and take your Bitcoins with it, and you dint have any authority to claim with, stops me from taking that risk.

A PayPal or bank account you can claim and fight to get any lost money back, with digital currency it can simply disappear leaving you with nothing, and nobody to help.

Two kinds of wallets: with "public key" and "private key". Coinbase, Block, Kraken, and most of comercial wallets and exchanges are "public key" wallets, that means that, somebody at the site will send you login password if you ask for it (if you lost it or want to change it), somehow they know your keys to get in to your account. Or, this wallet will disappear with all your bitcoins, scamming all the users.
The "private key" wallets will allow you to have your own security box in your computer, and your computer will generate your wallet address to receive and keep coins. But if you loose your password and security numbers nobody in this world will help you to recover password and your coins.
Here, you can take a private wallet for Ethereum: www.myetherwallet.com It is very helpful to have one of this wallets specially if your are going to invest in a ICO as they will send you tokens based in ETH.

No one can steal your bitcoin if you have good protection to the valet, it all depends on what you use the valet and how did you ensure?
I'm using xapo and coinbase otherwise I'm satisfied.

That's depends on which technique hacker ues

It really doesn't matter if he is a hacker or not.
The variations would require a quantum computer, which doesn't exist.
If you set up a brain wallet with some stupid word or sentence anyone can break it.
NO need to be a hacker.

Unless you have no secruity measure it is hard to steal. Most of the people use desktop wallet these days for saving bitcoin on their own machine. In case of web wallets. those are easy to steal. the reason being the sites which offer them perform the hack. and the service end up getting earned all the bitcoins owned by users. do it's definitely possible to get hacked if you don't own the bitcoin wallet. that's why desktop wallets are better.

The answer is yes because nothing is impossible, For example if I have a web BTC wallet on blockchain there are about 3
opportunities for hackers to steal my bitcoins!
1- I have a wallet on blockchain and this means if blockchain got hacked I will lose my Bitcoins!
2- My Blockchain account is linked with an email and if my email got hacked, the hacker will steal my Bitcoins!
3- If an hacker hacked my PC he will get all of my emails + my bitcoins!!
And so on! Nothing is 100% safe on the internet!

But I have read somewhere that some times hackers do hack ones wallet. Even coinbase was once hacked, so said a forumcoin member. Hackers can do anything just to achieve what they want, but it is good to be conscious anyway. One should always make use of all the security measures these wallets offers in other to be on the safer side.

yeah its possible. It will depend on two things the first is whether the device you are using have a virus that keylogs what you type and the second is whether your wallet provider is a web based wallet or an offline wallet. If you are using web wallets such as Coinbase then its possible your btc might be hacked but with offline wallets like electrum you are completely safe

This is a Moot topic.. There is very little gain in going after the individual wallet. A real thief is going at the exchange. Why waste time and energy just to get one wallet when you an grab the exchange wallet.

SHORT ANSWER: NO ... DONT WORRY ABOUT SOMEONE STEALING FROM YOUR WALLET. Just don't leave your coin on any exchange.

A thief is a thief. There are some upcoming thieves that wouldn't mind hacking a single wallet since they are yet to understand what it takes to hack a whole wallet, hence my disagreement with you.

So in my own opinion, the answer should be YES

It depends on wallet site that you are using if you are using a secure wallet sites then your money is safe but if you use any unpopular wallet that is not even secure then you can lose your bitcoins.
Most wallets have system that they send verification code to your phone every time you login.

Whether someone can steal your bitcoins really depends on the amount of security your account / wallet has . Some wallets offer high protection which includes 2 factor authentication and bunch of other things which highly secure your account but remember there is always a way for someone to break into your account.

Yes,I have read about Hackers, hacking into ones account and making away with one's coins but I believe with good and secured sites it becomes very rare and difficult. I'm using coinbase and so far no problem of missing coins

I am using blockchain wallet and the security is not bad. With the 2 factor verification via phone, plus other security measures i have taken, i think it would be difficult to get access to my wallet. Even if you get access to it, you still won't be able to transfer my coins.

I think yes, If you filled up in a fishing site, saying a lot of things to encourages you to invest or saying that you going to earn a lot of btc,
