Binance has temporarily suspended deposits after the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) ordered all banks to close the accounts of those who trade in cryptocurrencies. In the statement made by Binance, it was stated that Nigeria's official currency Naira has suspended the deposit services of its payment partners until the next announcement, and the Nigerian Naira deposits have been temporarily suspended.
Do you think the government will insist on this step?

It is part of the reason the central bank of Nigerla stated and they said it is used to also fund illegal activities due to it anonymous nature . In my opinion annoymity can be crack for bitcoin and some other coins.
I'm curious, how do you think the anonymous nature of bitcoin can be cracked, since over time many have attempted it without success?

I've read some news update where the FBI are you able to track down some people that I engage in illegal activities using Bitcoin so it's something I think it's very possible.

I also think so. I wonder if the KYC documents and the fiat account numbers used to deposit and withdraw can't be used to trace cryptocurrency.

I am very sure the country will come up with an agreement with binance officials to enable it users enjoy the services. If the reason for the government banning it is solvable then binance will resume its services as soon as possible. I have not gotten it well what could be the reason of this law to enforced. Cryptocurrencies should be championed a lot as it brings a lot of change.

It can actually be used but most of the illegal activities like buying hard drugs from the darknet they don't use fiat currencies Bank account they only use Crypto currency like Zcash and Monero.

This means that this ban only affects the ones legitimately dealing in cryptocurrency.

Part of the governments excuse for the ban is crime, which is not hindered at all.

I think as we keep patience the CBN may relax the ban because more people.are crictisizing the policies and encouraging them to regulate it instead of outright ban.

I'm a Nigerian as well. Good to know some people are speaking against it. This ban needs to be reversed for the good of everyone. Nigeria should stop thinking backward
Great. God will surely help us in that country. It seemed those in authority are just there for their own selfish interest and not for the people. Their mindset is not people oriented but theirs.

I hope so too, I'm patiently waiting for the update since they have been talks with people in authority concerning the ban. I hope some thing comes up

Let us see how things will be in the next one month, I just wish they allow banks to exchange and leave individuals Nigerians to engage in Crypto currencies activities at their own risks.

They're selfish. They don't want the common man to progress and live a comfortable life. They're bent on frustrating their fellow country men while they only can enjoy it.

I believed they should call it off with a regulations because that decision has affected many people who are doing legitimate business online. More jobs has been lost because of that decision.

Binance P2P will surely assist lots of Nigerlans to get over this nonsense and this will also boost the Binance membership Base soonest except other platforms follow soot.

Binance is just the best in coming up with this solution at least until the government decides to make reasonable decisions regarding this. Unfortunately, Luno has no plans for such and I can't really blame them.

I also expected luno to come up with better alternatives like the P2P so that countries having issues can usually deposit and also cash out let's keep watching probably they will come up with something better.

Well, going by the latest updates I got from the meeting they had with users today, they only hoped CBN will rescind its decision so that people can get their funds out if they need to. No talks of P2P or any other solutions for now.

P2P is not going to a topic of discussion because CBN has no power on that , I don't think CBN has ban any customers account so far.

This news was really sad when it was first announced as the news was unexpected and took people by surprise but recently binance has enabled peer to peer payment now and we can deposit and withdraw.
Yeah people are already adapted to the situation and we are already managing it , Crypto is a sure way to make money is one is very patient .

I'm not a Nigerian although but I know by now binance will find an alternative for them since their central bank ordered their banks not to allow their users use either credit or debit card for cryptocurrency transactions.

You guys can still use Cryptocurrency right? Just not allowing a direct withdraw or selling thru exchange but you can sell to people directly?
