Binance has temporarily suspended deposits after the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) ordered all banks to close the accounts of those who trade in cryptocurrencies. In the statement made by Binance, it was stated that Nigeria's official currency Naira has suspended the deposit services of its payment partners until the next announcement, and the Nigerian Naira deposits have been temporarily suspended.
Do you think the government will insist on this step?

Binance has made a temporary suspension announcement, and no further explanation has followed. Nigerian friends, is the local press in your country reporting this decision of the government? Any reaction? If you have information, we would like to learn.

It is truth though the government said they didn't ban crypto currency rather it is banks that they ban from trading crypto. That is to say, banks can not invest in crypto currency. We are hoping in the next few days, the CBN will come up with a better explanation of their decision.

That is the current situation of things now. Even Luno has suspended deposits jus like Binance has done and I am sure it would be the same on all those exchanges that support naira.
Yes. This government doesn't have good attention towards its people. One just wonder why they bring out policy that doesn't favor majority of the people.

I think the deposit suspend doesn't restricts withdraw to Local currency but you can't make a deposit to buy cryptocurrencies using the debit card or any payment platform. CBN need to clarify.

I think the band is to prevent banks from associating with crypto related companies , but you could still actually buy crypto currency using p2p on binance

The Binance can also be allowing withdrawal simply by changing the narrations from Crypto currency to another description. I hope this policy is swept under the carpet because it is not favourable.

I hope its not well implemented and i know that very soon binance would get a new ways for users to start making deposit on crypto currency i think

I read on Binance telegram group that Binance is working actively with some partners in Nigeria to see how easily they can facilitate payment.

I didn't check the Binance exchange, but I also read the kind of news you said on some news sites. I hope this problem is fixed somehow or binance maybe can do something about it.

The number of Nigerlans subscribed to Binance are huge so they will definitely consider the challenge to put in place very safe P2P for us hopefully.

I am on the lookout for the end of all the drama going on presently as regards this policy. I am in no way surprised that the government is being called out on this issue.

I read that SEC and CBN are in disagreement over Crypto currencies ban in Nigeria , I am still digging the reality of the update to know if it true or not.

One thing with cryptocurrency is that no government willfind it favourable to their policies.

Its decentralized, transactions are anonymous, and it's unpredictable, all not things that any government will like.

It is part of the reason the central bank of Nigerla stated and they said it is used to also fund illegal activities due to it anonymous nature . In my opinion annoymity can be crack for bitcoin and some other coins.

This is just the issue I have with authorities in my country, always bringing up policies that are detrimental to the well being of the economy. This is really sad, I hope this will be sorted out very soon

We hope so as some notable personnel has come out to speak against it. If I may asked, what country are you from that are also doing similar policy that doesn't favor its citizen?

Why won't they call them out. The policy is nonsense. They just wake up and decide whatever they like without consideration for the people. It is totally rubbish.

I'm a Nigerian as well. Good to know some people are speaking against it. This ban needs to be reversed for the good of everyone. Nigeria should stop thinking backward
