the financial services company Perpetual, software company ConsenSys , Commonwealth Bank, and National Australia Bank to research on the potential of CBDC on the economy of the country .
The CBDC will be built on ethereum network.

It seems you didn't get the message there. Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency and Fiat currency. It is not real in the sense that it is virtual . I don't think he meant " not real" in entirety

I think you're right, India is pushing for crypto ban at the moment now in order to push their own coin, saw another story of Morocco also introducing its own coin
