i wouldn't recommend online business for any high school student, because it's called business, it requires effort and time that probably you have to invest on your studies, you can still do freelancing to finance yourself

As Student with skill, you can join any freelancing sites like Upwork, Fiverr etc and make your money from the comfort of your home. And if you're without anything skills you can learn one online for free.

Also, note that there are some freelancing gigs you can offer people without having any skills like; social media moderator, virtual assistance etc.

It is very possible that you did promote your link manually, in such situation you may not get genuine traffic in the niche you were promoting , if you had used paid traffics they drive organic traffic according to your niche of promotion so at least 30% do convert which is enough to earn you money. It is working.
