So basically I have a machine with the following specs:

• Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-8400 CPU @ 2.80GHz
• GTX 1050 Ti

Some might say that it's not worth mining, I don't need these replies so don't bother replying if that's what you're going to say, Thanks.

What can I mine using this machine? & What miner should I use?
Also honestly I never setted up a miner so I might need a little help with this.

PS: A miner with no graphic user interface would be the best, like a cmd process.

What kind of investment? Short-term? Long-term? Trading? The transaction fee is currently kinda high, but if you want to hold it without moving it then yyou don't have to wory about transaction fee.

I suggest to mine Monero (XMR) because it is an open-source one. Many people are mining this cryptocurrency. It has a good value also.

You may try alternative coins such eth & ltc since these both have potential to excel in the future. Doge & xrp are not able to be mined but you can invest with them thru exchangers

I still believe that Investing in mining crypto currencies for longer time investment is better of than Crypto trading because profit is sure in mining coins like bitcoin or doge though may not be much but better than trading that could lead loses sometimes.

If you have enough knowledge and patience you can profit from trading even when the price drops, with mining when the price drop your mining earning will always negatively affected.

I doubt if they are not volatile too , if bitcoin price go up they also correspond, I have atleeast four crytpo coins on my wallet and I have studying them, bitcoin, ethereum, litecoin and ripple, they are volatile too but bitcoin is their strength.

Yeah you are right these altcoins follow the trends of bitcoin , because bitcoin is the supreme cryptocurrency . Especially litecoin and Eth follow more than doge

That's true bitcoin is better for a newbie who wants to start Minning should start with very popular coin so the risk will be minimal, he should also be aware of the challenges arround mining generally.

Lol. Mining Bitcoin needs a huge capital to start with. So it definitely not suited for newbie. I recommend mining some monero or other altcoins first for newcomer.

Monero isn't bad but not every newbie knows other coins like they are aware of bitcoin and ethereum. Don't know if it the entire Minning that is difficult and expensive now , if not all then doge would be more preferred to mine and hold than monero and bitcoin.

One thing for sure is that your electricity bill will be bloated once you start mining.

We have seen that miners of bitcoin are not making much from it again especially with the reduction of bitcoin produce per mining , if you must mine the best bet is dogecoin because the transaction fee is low and still much available unlike bitcoin that do halve

It is all about checking the cost implications and the amount to get in the end, I have just read an article now and it is better to mine bitcoin than all other coins because the same quantity of electricity may be used but in the end low profit for low coins like doge or monero.
