Many people who want to make money online don't make as much money as they would because their marketing strategies aren't effective.

Most don't even set marketing goals. How can you work for something when all you have is some vague goal in mind?

For your marketing to be effective you need to set goals. Achievable goals. Aim high but not too high or else failure will make you give up. The results you obtain can be used to measure how effective your marketing strategy is.

If you don't achieve the goals you set then eliminate that marketing strategy and move on. This is why you need numerous marketing strategies. When one doesn't work it doesn't matter if it worked for someone else, move on. Spend more time trying to find a marketing strategy that will work instead.

Goals really help us stay focused and motivated. For me, when it comes to marketing and even promoting, I need to set specific goals each week. This way, it's little by little progress but it's sure. So for example, this week, my goal would be to promote my website on Facebook and get at least 20 visits from there. Then the next week, my goal would be to promote my website on Twitter and get people to comment on my site from there. At least, with these smaller goals, there's no excuse in not being able to achieve them.

Another thing is, strategise a plan. Don't just get out there and leap without any plan at all. Have a Plan A, Plan B and Plan C. It's part of setting the goals for your website. So in case your first plan fails, at least there's still two more you can use.

Goal setting also means being innovative. Your goals need to be simple but attainable, yes, but how about the approach to achieving that goal? You need to create novel and radical ways of getting to your goal. Whereas eBooks are common now, why not provide a comic eBook? Whereas Twitter is common now, use Pinterest.

Speaking of goals, this is what I learned from the marketing seminar that I attended when I was promoted as supervisor. We were taught to set goals of 2 kinds - short term and long term which goals also fall into 2 types, i.e. realizable and nice to have. And the most important is for the goals to be tangible in nature. In terms of marketing, the goals should include figures and forecasts needed a basis like the current versus the projected. When the goal is vague then the mind is free to adjust when the goal is definite then the focus is also defined.

Place: Find a suitable place that is predominant with the kind of people that would be interested in your market.If it about ladies,ladies are more on instagram,then you could take your market there more than other platforms.Site or pitch your products where the gender,height,weight or complexion of your market abound.

Promotion:This is the icy on the cake,you need this point more than ever,advertise your market,where it necessary and boost it with free or paid ads for more sales.
