Remember the early days of Tron when transactions were cheap? Back then, sending USDT on Tron was a breeze compared to Ethereum. For instance, Ethereum gas fees might be over $15 USD per transaction at the end of year 2021, while on Tron it was only several cents. That's why Tron gained popularity for its efficient and affordable transactions.

However, times have changed. Now, Tron is one of the most expensive networks for transactions. Here is a topic comparing transaction fees for USDT transfers on various networks: https://www.beermoneyforum.com/thre...s-are-different-on-different-networks.595642/

But there's a way to reduce fees: buy energy, instead of letting the network to burn your TRX to cover its cost. This way you can save about 80% of the TRON's default energy price.

Here is a page with a convenient calculator:

https://energyfather.com/tron-energy-calculator

that shows you how much energy you require to send USDT on TRON to specific address[es] and it shows you how much you can save if you buy that energy, instead of burning TRX for it directly. And you can buy TRON energy from the same site if you need it.

Does this work in trust wallet? I know this will work in tron related wallets like Tronlink etc.. Through staking tron for 14 days , I have got energy and power while using Tronlink wallet.

Trust Wallet supports the TRON blockchain. And you can buy TRON energy to the address used by your Trust Wallet to save on transaction fees.

Yes, you can stake TRX to get energy for your transactions. Currently, for one transaction requiring 64,895 energy, you need to stake about 5,200 TRX (approximately $600). And TRON has been lowering the energy multiplier for staking over the years; every day, you need to stake more and more TRX to get the same amount of energy.

Buying energy is a good alternative to staking. For the same transaction requiring 64,895 energy, you need to pay only 5.84 TRX ($0.64). Additionally, you do not need to worry about essential amounts of staked TRX being at risk. Their value can fluctuate and drop while they are frozen. Worse, the TRON network may suddenly lose its credibility or come under scrutiny from regulators, causing their value to plummet to almost zero.

I have found out that to make the saving of transaction fees possible we have to use a Tron based wallet like TronLink wallet as it allows users gain energy that will in turn help on reducing transaction fees
The problem, not so many people are into Tron based wallets

The other way would be to place your transactions during less congested periods on the Tron network which is not any easy thing

You can only gain energy from staking TRX, which can be done in most wallets, not just in the TronLink wallet. The problem with this method is that you need to stake a lot. As I mentioned in the previous comment, currently you need to stake about 5,200 TRX (approximately $600) to get enough energy for 1 or may be 2 transactions per day. If you are ready to freeze $600 for energy, sure, go for it, but it does have some risks.

As for the "less congested periods", TRON uses a dynamic energy multiplier for different smart contracts, and it is re-evaluated every 6 hours depending on the network load. However, due to the popularity of USDT contracts, the multiplier for them has been at its maximum for a very long time. I doubt you will see energy costs for USDT transfers going below the maximum, no matter how long you wait.
