Yoy can start by trying out freelance writing sites that is if you grammer skills are top notch.
Working online is not thag easy, let no one lie to you, put aside those youtube videos where you can earn 100+ in a day.
Bottom line, you have to put your head in the game, work hard and smart.

If you have all the equipment (computer, stable internet connection) not to mention skills, it's possible. Might be an issue if you're underage?

Can you write?
Can you do web design or any other IT-related skills?
Among others.

Nowadays it's getting harder and harder to earn online even with skills.
Thankfully, there are PTC sites that pay you decent money, like SerpClix. Doing surveys any also help you, though if you aren't from Tier 1/2 country, it's going to be real tough scoring in those. But those don't require skills, just a lot of effort and patience.

Nevertheless, I hope you find good source of income or have found it already for the sake of your family :)

I would suggest you start a blog and keep posting good articles on it. You can place ads on it and if you get more visitors you can earn more than 100$ per week. This is a very hard task but not impossible. You can start slow and make a big amount as your blog grow.

Without knowing what you are interested in or where your skills lie, it's hard to give you any direction. But like some of the members have said, you could do well to search for leads via blogs and other websites. Reddit can be a good source of online work leads.

You could also register with freelance sites such as Upwork and PeoplePerHour, where you can bid for jobs that interest you - competition is tight, however, especially if you don't have a portfolio to document your past work. You could also try to teach English remotely - the internet is awash with sites that offer these opportunities but you may have to earn a TEFL certificate to be hired. MagicEars, Cambly, iTalki and PalFish are a few of the companies that offer teaching jobs. Maybe you could give transcription a try - Transcribeme and GoTranscribe are just two examples. I agree with those who say it's rare to earn $50 via just one site. That's why it's always important to diversify your income streams, never look for and rely on just one site - if it folds, you're left stranded. Search for maybe 2-3 sites through which o earn using your interests and abilities.

Its totally possible to earn 50$ a week online especially as there are many earning sites online. earning 50$ a week also depends on your location because countries like US, UK, CANADA, will be easier especially through surveys as they pay well for time well spent. You might even be able to earn that amount per day if your hardworking. Some sites which you can earn include beermoneysurvey.com , picoworker, rapidworker, this forum, and also through faucets

It's possible but it would consume alot of your time, and the thread isn't even about full time earning online but just as a student

tasks? what tasks are you talking about? and which site are you talking about? if this site is what you're talking about you do not need to do tasks, if the tasks you are talking about is posting then yep you have to post to get points , you can't just get money just by doing nothing dear, and first and foremost read forum rules for new users to avoid being reported

LBRY? isn't that an airdrop site? or am I mistaken? airdrop sites makes you have to do tasks yes to get the rewards those most of the airdrops are scams

50$ a week as a student is a mountain to climb especially if you want to make that amount without investing any money online. I have not seen anything that would give anyone that amount without investing money. So try to reduce it to 20$ per week maybe you will get a clue.

I think he can unless he has some skills to sell online though it would still be near impossible as he's still a student

Yea it can't be really helpful. I think the best way to hit that target weekly is to have a standard skill to monetize... Then after some days maybe money can flow in. But it takes patience.
