Before some days , an egyptian male person with bachelor that's living in Cairo got arrested for ETH mining, he was putting all the mining rigs together in an appartement that he was renting, he had a total of 114 GPUs (Graphic Cards), 19 Mobos (Motherboards), 19 PSUs (Power supplies) and a laptop that had his wallet opened in .
he admitted of his (let's say crime if we use the egyptian law as a referrence ?) .

Is mining Ethereum forbidden in Egypt? Or he's stealing electricity or using stolen mining rig? Kinda weird to see people got arrested because of mining.

He was absolutely arrested for mining as it's stated in the title, you can't really say that it's weird because rules and law differ from a country to another

The crime there was him mining against the law put in place which needs total submissivness.Nothing weird about one disobeying laws everywhere

he probably didn't intend to break the law or disobey it, but there are still non clarified rules about cryptocurrency usage and mining, that's why

With this line of defense, alot of people will go Scot free of crime or breaking laws. The law wouldn't want all of that because humans hardly obey laws

That is sad to learn of,I thought that the only major proble was that other countries have refused to recognise crypto currency as legal tender like the case of my country. But now to the extent of restricting it being mined even if you can afford to.z"That is too harsh"

Egypt is an Islamic country and their laws all activities of bitcoin and other Crypto currencies are term Haram (forbidden) by their law so obviously even ethereum mining is illegal.

Maybe he wasn't a legal miner because in some countries illegal miners are mostly arrested and are not tolerated, so its not that possible to arrest a legal miner

even now, there are no official rules about crypto being illegal or legal in a lot of countries, in his case, mining was probably inluded in another crime that's not related to crypto for sure

That's it, humans will say some humans just like the life of crime so whether a law is enacted or not, their is to go against which is bad.

I think it is officially declared as illegal to run any bitcoin or Crypto currencies activities in Egypt and so may this person was arrested because he engaged in it and was tracked.

So even Bitcoin mining is illegal in Egypt I guess. In our country it is legal to mine bitcoin or altcoins. Sad to know the person involved in mining is getting arrested
