As per Cointelegraph, Chris Maurice, the CEO of Yellow Card, said that crypto growth in Africa is rapidly expanding with four countries - Nigeria, South Africa, Ghana, and Kenya lead the pack. Yellow Card is a a crypto exchange based in Lagos, Nigeria. He also said that there's estimation that as much as 10% of people in South Africa at some point of time have owned bitcoin.

Yeah I have many of my Nigerian friends who are interested in investing in cryptocurrencies. I hope crypto fans will increase in Asia too.

I can attest to this as a Nigerian despite Bitcoin not being totally legal in the country but almost everyone in my circle is now into one form of Bitcoin investment or other. So this is true

I think to see that bitcoin is having more users in bitcoin and this will really help the people , I also hopes its been spread to other Africa countries in high note it will be better

Nigerians are joining the Crypto currencies activities on daily basis , the number of Crypto exchangers are also on the rise because it is a profit making investment.

Even if it is legalized fully in different countries it can be used like the paper money, it will aid cashless economy as online transaction will be more effective.

Crypto banks will only make it easier for Crypto- fiat conversions faster and more efficient, this will not really affect those who are not convinced with Crypto currencies to use their normal Fiat currencies for transactions.

surprisingly yes, i saw a lot of good news about that, especially nigeria and south africa, those are some serious improvements, i hope the same happens to north african countries

Excellent news and as one panelist alluded. Luno has done exceptionally well in countries that it is available in because you can easily buy and sell crypto without any difficulties and minimal charges.Just thst crypto currency has not be recognised as legal tender to use to purchase goods and services. We don't know you long this integration to our local banks will take.

It is a sign of the good popularity that cryptocurrency is getting. I know someone in Nigeria who quit his business because he is making good profit from bitcoin investment.
Yeah its good if he is really earning lot from the bitcoin investment which is reducing the unemployment rate in that country ,at least things will get better with crypto investment

Well, it surely is. It is risky though, with huge potentials to zap up cash too. You have to make a really good analysis, monitor the prices and wait for the perfect moment to hit the market.
There are already tools to monitor the price and it really has a great impact on peoples lives financially and others , I hope more people in other countries knows about it

I'm from southeast asia, and in my country cryptocurrency is steadily rising lately due to the strict stay at home policy that was enforce here and that many were laid off their jobs

Yeah same here. It's been lockdown in our country too , and people are losing out their outside jobs and involving more in online businesses including crypto.

as they said that the vaccine is coming soon, but I think things won't stabilize that fast as they would need to continually test the vaccine for different cases

Yeah you are right. The type of covid cases is varying. Some are asymptomatic as well. They may need different kind of vaccine. Let's hope for the best though :)

The back to normal thing without the pandemic Covid might be still far long , as testings for vaccine aren't really that fast that they need to consider alot of things

There was a time Jack Dorsey's Square was supporting Yellow Card, the largest cryptocurrency platform in Africa. This has shown that Africa is one of the leading continent in the propagation of crypto. Though, there are many African countries that have strict regulations against crypto.

The growth of cryptocurrencies in African States has been kinda phenomenal especially when you consider the continent's usual lagging in adopting new technologies. All that is needed now are favourable policies by the governments that would ensure a faster growth of crypto markets.

Yeah, one thing i hate about we the africans is that, they always want to do it but fear will not let them to try but they will wait to see if a single person succeed through it they will now start. Few years ago, people used to doubt bitcoin but now they have seen that others are making a lot of money through it, they now have hope in it.
