❓ASK Comparison between countries' minimum monthly wage

B

Let me start with myself, in my region the minimum amount of monthly living wage is about 200 USD. What about yours?

Just for the curiosity sake since BMF members come from all over the world, I think to myself "why not ask this kind of question?". I want to know more about countries all around the world and its economies.

And that of course compounds the problem!

The goverment where I live has done a pretty good job of convicing people to keep spending, and I think consumption is down by less than in many other countries - but still there are more empty shop fronts now than before...
Yeah our government is giving away freebies and others to the deserved people who actually lost their jobs and people like farmers and doctors.

They still spend on my opinion because if you are idle you tend to eat more food so people still spend more on buying food stuffs for the survival of this break.
Yeah it's not only about eating. They may spend on digital accessories too because now there are many discounts on digital goods due to this CORONA . ,and they may think it's good time to buy.

I don't really think people will spend more on food - I know my family isn't. We spend far less money on food becuase of eating at home rather than eating out, and also tending to pick cheaper things (we eat a lot of peanut butter at the moment!) to save money.

Digital accessories are more likely in my mind - lots of bored people, and lots of people working from home needing a home office.

Where I live (China) the minimum wage is different in different areas (rightly so as the cost of living is very different). In big cities like Guangzhou where I am the minimum wage is something like 5,000RMB (about 800USD) a month - but during the virus companies were allowed to pay 80% of the minimum wage....
That's huge, guess the cost of living cost of living and the revenue being generated in this is very high, I guess it is most industrial city or region in China.

Coronavirus is a lethal threat to human life and poverty. Think who live on roadside their help nrarly stopped. Our government started emergency food supply but there also enormous corruption. When I look at my country I see reality its fake that monthly wager is $94 on internet its not even $20 if we count all people in statistics.

It depends on how we spend our money on our monthly livings... In our country it can change from States to States.. The minimium amount to required to live in India is from 150 usd to 250 usd.. It depends on the availability of products and the price range of the products. It keeps on changing... In future price is going to increase so the minimium amount to make a month will also increases.. So the minimium will veriy by different reasons and will have huge apact on the people.. So earn more money now ??

Yes India has diversity and variance. In wealth state by state and also it falls into those less no. of countries where you can see Terrible Hot Desert and also Coolest Snow Covered Mountains. I know in some part of states in India poverty is 5x than ours. I saw the bite of poverty there. Madhya Pradesh may be.

In my country we have almost the same amount and sometimes and extra 50$ might be added. This virus has really brought down the economy and things are definitely not easy now.

Sorry to hear about you dear. We need to wait as Coronavirus is not going to leave so soon instead I am afraid more lethal virus we may see or bioweapons may come in the future. Not all the people are good and some got inspired by coronavirus attack ability.

Yeah poverty is more in states where there are not musny software companies or factories. Examples like Bihar as well. Most of the south Indian states are much richer like Tamilnadu, Karnataka

Minimum monthly wage of Romania (my country) is around 2230 RON (nearly €465). I believe its far better than many under developed countries though we are not at the top list of Europe.

For Belgium monthly wage (minimum) comes about 1594 Euro. We are facing coronavirus just like others around the world. In this thread I get a lot of information about different variations in country to country minimum monthly wage.

Here we have $160 minimum wage that we can say monthly. I am from Ukraine and a new member of this forum. Global economy at the breakpoint for the virus outbreak and monthly wage went down significantly.

Hello everyone I am from Estonia. I should say my country's minimum wage per month is €584 and we are quite happy with that. We dont have population pressure.

Here in the Philippines, the minimum daily wage is just only in the range of 6-8$. My country is bound with corrupt government officials, heads and leaders. No wonder why my country belongs to the 3rd world.
I guess most African countries follow the same trend when it comes to mininimu wage , the variation in different countries are not that significant . I hope some day the corruption will be eradicated.

Well, here in Southeast Asia, the conditions is more or less the same. Corruption (though I think it's not as hard as Africa), poverty and inequality are everywhere.

In our country minimum wage is $300 atleast so that a man lives a successful life along with his family. Anything lesser than that is difficult to survive and mostly they are low class citizens

This is a good one at least if the low class citizens recieve minimum of $300 , life will be very comfortable for every one that cut his coat according to his or her size. The cost of living in your country is also a factor.

Corruption cannot be eliminated anymore unless a miracle happens. People in the government and politics are tempted to this activity because of money, position & power.

Yeah I agree. This is the normal condition in most countries that belongs under the Asian region. Still I am hoping this would be eliminated someday even the chances are small.
