Who offers the cheapest web hosting?

I'm having this school project and can't afford an expensive web hosting monthly plans. I'm looking for pay couple bucks for a year of web hosting, resources needed are very very low.

I am hosted at Hawkhost. They have monthly price of 2.3$ per month. And they have like 10GB disk space and 100GB bandwidth. I think for my use that budget is suitable. For other people this may or may not work out. And for this reason I'd say better to consider other hosting option.s Avoid hostgator and blue host in that case though. Becuase that is very bad hosting network.
Why not OVH or Asura Hosting? Keep in mind that Asura Hosting resells from OVH but for too low prices, you can check them out.

After spending two years with godaddy this year I am working with Ipage.
open your browser and type: Secret offer area Ipage.
They offer hosting plan for 12 months with a free domain name.
and don't worry this hosting plan is TYPICALLY the same as their normal hosting plans.
Also keep in mind that you must assure you choose the '' secret offer area for hosting plan not for domain.
usually the domain offer area cost only 8$ but hosting 12$ so be aware.
goodluck

Umm, my friend tried iPage but the result was that you can not get any SSL Certificate from anywhere else, you have to purchase a certificate from them and that's the problem, If you are using Blogger or WordPress there so you have to use the HTTPS because of Google new TOS so that's the problem. Also I can suggest you trying my host I'm reselling free web hosting with nice specifications and fast web server and finally it's FREE (Also free isn't always that bad, you can find free with nice things and can fine the opposite.) You can get any free domain [from freenom.com] or use my sub-domain if you don't have one and test the service. :D

How long does it take your host to reply to support tickets? A day, a week, or even a month? I'm not a site owner so therefore I don't use a webhost.

If, as you have said, the resources needed are very very low, try the free hosting of hostinger.com. I started my own blog there on their free services. I used their free services for almost two years. Up until my traffic got heavy.
Don't worry about ads. They don't run ads on their free hosting services.

If you are beginner in web Developing you can go with VULTR.com.
They have very cheap web Hosting starting from only $2.50 per Month.

Why not OVH or Asura Hosting?
When I was looking for a dedicated server for one of my projects that was demanding a lot of resources I stumble on OVH offers, but luckily I read many reviews on other forums and decided not to buy from them, way too many complaints about this company.

I just worked on the vultr recently. and their VPS plan is good for the client. I setup it on 2.5$ a month. which is not bad. and client paid for entire year in a flash. so I think VPS wise that price is veryc hceap. and you can also get the same price with the OVH. But do note thaat OVH does not have customer service section due to cheap price. and for that you need some good technical minded person to work with you. so try kimsufi in that case.

The cheapest is free, and you definitely don't want that unless you just want you to end up pissed off and all your work gone with no recourse... take into consideration, when you are talking about the cheapest shared hosting available, you have to factor in a lot more than the monthly hosting fee... Remember, more often than not in web hosting as well as in most things, the cheap comes out expensive. ... early say retarded your focus to a reasonably priced very stable quality host rather than a so-called cheap host that will cost you eight hun in necessary upgrade, downtime, lost Revenue, lost time, and aggravation

I am going to launch my website i will make it with a free hosting in the fisrt year, the second year i will make a paid hosting and i think this one is great.

Check out HostByte they have 24x7 live support and superior web hosting plans which start from $12/month they also have 30 days money back, so No Risk to try there services.

From research I think both Godaddy and Name cheap.offers cheap services but most of my blogger friends use domainking, it also cheap for usage.

if you are at all serious about the website you are going to launch, or intend to monetize it in any way, directly or indirectly, I strongly caution you NOT to go with free hosting... if you get any traffic at all, the odds of your sight lasting a year are Slim at best

Go Daddy will try to mercilessly upsell you services that don't exist and/or you don't need, and both of them are way overpriced compared to my go-to: namesilo.com for domain registration, I wouldn't recommend either GoDaddy or namecheap for hosting, Imo they should both stick with domain registration alone, they're both at least average at that, but abysmal hosting providers.

If you have a mainstream site, I highly recommend a A2 hosting, and believe it or not for adult content, I recommend jvzoohost

I'm using namecheap. I'm not really sure if this is the cheapest place to buy domain and hosting service but you could start your website in less than $20. I actually bought first my domain from hostgator and when it expired I transferred it to namecheap.

$1 per year
