The problem
For a very long time the whole Paid to Click industry has been pretty much a cesspool of scam and fraud. We have scam sites popping up left and right only to disappear months later, we have fraudulent users who have destroyed the reputation of cash-incentive traffic for most advertisers. It even goes all the way to the top to service providers like ShiftCode that I talk about in this article in more detail.
The point is that Paid to Click websites, the way they operate right now, don't have a very bright future. Unless drastic action is taken, the industry will not last for another decade. It's surprising it has lasted as long as it has already.
The solution - a decentralized unifying platform for all PTC services
It would seem like Blockchain has a solution for everything and this is true also for the cash incentive PTC/GPT industry.
We propose a fully transparent and open decentralized advertising platform that is powered by the Ethereum blockchain and the Interplanetary File System (IPFS) in a completely trustless ecosystem. The Ethereum blockchain enables us to develop such a platform where anyone can create their own open source Paid to Click service that cannot be shut down- not even if you wanted to.
On such a platform, since the Blockchain is transparent by nature, every single transaction can be traced back to the owner of the individual PTC service that runs on the platform. This will effectively eliminate the ever increasing issue of fake payment proofs. And since the smart contracts that power said services cannot be altered after deployment, it will be impossible for the site owner of simply modify and fake the total payout numbers like they are doing right now.
On the platform each individual user has the power to vote for their favorite service which will help truly honest and powerful services to thrive thanks to a democratic blockchain based voting system.
When problems arise, they are discussed publicly and service providers (the admins) cannot simply shut down their service whenever they feel like it. They need to take responsibility for their actions!
Because the platform will be fully decentralized there will not be a traditional web server. Instead the whole platform will be powered by the IPFS and smart contracts on the Ethereum blockchain making them much more secure and transparent.
No ICO, Not for crypto whales
CLIXToken is not an ICO and there will not be a public token sale. Instead we offer 10,000 free CLIXToken to every single GPT or PTC website owner that requests it. The process is as simple as filling out a Google form found here.
Once your address is whitelisted you are required to make a zero payment (send 0 ETH) to our smart contract from the whitelisted Ethereum address and the contract will transfer 10,000 tokens right to your wallet. From that point on it's entirely up to the PTC/GPT owner to choose what to do with the token. They can assign whatever rate they feel is acceptable for the token and reward it to the users for their work.
We have taken this course because it is not in our best interest to have the token end up in the hands of crypto whales. The whole point of the project is to help jumpstart current and future PTC/GPT owners into moving onto our decentralized platform once it is released. And because of that it makes absolutely no sense to sell the token to people who don't even operate a site themselves and are only looking to buy and hodl.
Therefore you should not look at CLIXToken as an investment, but an utility token that will find its natural value when the decentralized platform is released.
Utility of the CLIXToken
While in the beginning we hope to see more and more websites to incorporate CLIXToken as a simple payment option for their members, eventually we have plans to make CLIXToken the token of choice in our decentralized platform. It will be used as "karma points" to vote for various important topics in a democratic and open manner and it will be used to reward users for doing various tasks you are already familiar with from traditional Paid To services. Needless to say advertisers will be able to purchase advertising packages using CLIXToken.

We have already developed the unofficial add-on for EvolutionScript websites. That means if you are running an EvolutionScript website you can benefit from CLIXToken right now. Today. The add-on is freely available on Github.
The add-on allows you to make CLIXToken payments directly from inside your admin panel provided that you have MetaMask installed and enough ETH to cover the transaction fees in Gas.

Unlike other crypto startups we are only a very small team of people with extensive experience in both Blockchain smart contracts as well as the GPT industry in general.
Frank Petser (CEO and Lead developer) is a freelancer and the author of the GPT Handbook.
