Anyone here investing money in P2P? I would like to know if Zopa is trusted company?

Hello!

I use Bondora, Twino and Mintos. Heard about Zopa but I don't know much about them (not from experience, anyway)... I'm not sure whether I'll put more money in P2P but if I would, it would most likely be into my Mintos account (my Mintos account has around 13% annual gain so far).

There is basically no risk, as Mintos will buy a loan back from you if the person who loaned the money stops paying. Bondora has nothing of the sort.

Also, all of these three are open for anyone within the EU and not limited to the US or UK as many others are.

Regards,
Oliver

I agree with the above that Mintos has the best arrangement if you are the one investing the money. But overall the industry needs to be watched, many of these websites are only a year or two old. I fear more about the overall company disappearing more than I would be concerned about an individual loan having problems.

I don't know Zopa, however, I have accounts on MMM Global and Red Dragon. I once tried lending on MMM Global where you have to send money via bitcoins. I did not know the exact process thus my account was blocked. Later I sent a support ticket and my account was reinstated.

Yes, I worry about that a bit as well. Perhaps Bondora would be quite safe in such a case? Taken from Bondora website:

"Bondora AS is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) with the reference number 665420."

I'm not sure how many of those companies are regulated by the FCA and/or whether it's a "safety guarantee", but it certainly helps me trust Bondora a bit more. Also, they've been online for a few years now if I'm not mistaken.

Peer to peer lending or loan is what I never try again not with what happen last year with MMM global.Though I wasn't directly affected by my family members were badly affected. Huge sum of money went down the drain with no hope of recovery. This sites don't last and it becomes worrisome.

I would love to invest but currently I am short of funds and it won't be a good idea to do so. Maybe next year I will try to invest

I don't like most of these programs cos it full of insincerity and this could affect someone health wise cos of over reliance, but with you briefly info on Mintos I am a bit encouraged

Zopa has weathered many storms including the 2008 financial crisis and making losses continually of late. It remains popular with lenders testimony being their wait list but the loans are unsecured. The removal of the SafeGuard Fund account has placed Zopa in the league of risky investments.

Actually I don't know how safe is to invest on any online site.If you want to do it at any cost,at least make some research online(though the positive reviews doesn't mean, that the site will pay for a long time-the site may close down any moment)and invest a little sum.Hope you will be lucky(that is what needed on this type of sites) and you can make some profit there.
