WordPress vs Joomla?

I think it is Wordpress that won the hearts of more than 23% of website owners on the Internet. While Wordpress and Joomla are free and open source they have their own pros and cons.

In ease of use I think Wordpress is a clear winner. It comes with a famous five minute install. It is easy for a new user to start the website in Wordpress. Wordpress is very user friendly with a lot of options to customize your web page. When it comes to installation Joomla it is not as quick as Wordpress. But there is also a feeling that Joomla is more powerful than Wordpress and hence it is taking more time to install. But a new user would not find it comfortable to do business.

Wordpress also got a strong community of users which is growing every day. Joomla also have a good supporting community in place and they also got an extensive documentation on Joomla which is a valuable data for beginners. Wordpress is very suitable for the most non-developer users and a clear winner in ease of use, support, plugins and themes.

I haven't tried Joomla, mostly because there aren't so many resources out there to help you configure it. It's really easy to find tutorials for wordpress on YouTube that will really help you get started.

I'd say it's WordPress due to it's user-friendly interface. I mean, it's easy to use and anyone who has a good understanding of computers can easily set WordPress up.

In contrary, although I haven't really use Joomla that much, I find it a little bit harder to set-up as compared to WordPress but yes, Joomla is more powerful than WP.

One thing I love about WordPress is that there are a ton of people who are already using it and finding support and assistance on the internet is easy. There are also tons of widgets and themes to choose from so it's most definitely ideal to beginners (like me). :)

In simple terms I would say Wordpres is for Blogging.
Joomla is for Business websites and other purposes, but my favorite was Drupal that has more security.
We always looks for our need and all the CMS are built for anything that we can do. Wordpress has built in for so many things and easy to understand for install etc.
Joomla takes time for understanding, placing the content in right section. Long back I used Joomla and the site looks clean, but it was hacked twice and it is good for running a news Portal site.

I have three wordpress websites. I am a non-technical person, therefore, I am using wordpress. In order to use Joomla, you need web development skills. Once I tried Joomla, I wanted to set a website by reading DIY articles, however, I could not follow the instructions. Thus I gave up.

I think WordPress if you use long enough time. It can give you pretty much good results for workflow. You can use it for blog and other article writing sites. It can also be a good option for those who are trying to make shop or the small business website. I have seen that to be working for many business. More you learn it on case by case basis, it can be a good learning curve.

Wordpress is better since it has much more plugins than Joomla. When you have more plugins, you can make much more different and better websites.

With the Gutenberg editor. It seems like the WordPress is gaining more and more ground on the CMS market. And more people are using the wordpress every day. Joomla on the other hand is losing the technical ground on many ways. Not a lot of people are going for the drupal and the joomla CMS. i'd say it seems like wordpress is on lead.

I surprised to see that all the votes were in favor of WordPress and mine was too because WordPress is quite simple to use even you don't learn it but after some tries you will be able to create your own website easily.

Gutenberg editor still have bad sides and many people didn't use to it yet and use old classic editor. One of it is adding extra p tags or &nbsp.

I guess most people will go with Wordpress like I go. Wordpress evolves with time in design and business need. Joomla still far behind. Magento may fight well with Wordpress on content management but joomla is way behind.

Isn't Magento just PHP framework and not CMS as Wordpress? There is big difference between framework and content managment system (CMS).

Magentocan be used as ecommerce too and many other ways I've heard. As a blog too very much possible. In that way it can be treated as a CMS.

I think the best content management software that anybody especially a beginner should be looking forward to using is WordPress. When you are comparing the price with other ones it is comparatively very cheaper. You can also be able to choose from a lot of plugins that are available for free and even the premium are not that expensive.
