In general a website is worth 12 x Monthly Profit.
If a website makes $500/month in profit you'll see the owner wants at least $6000. Yes buying sites is not cheap. :)

You will find some good rates on forums, At flippa the higher rate than on forums. My suggestion is try on Flippa for getting a good website, but make sure test all the things as these people make fake stats to get great offers.

It is very hard to get good website at a reasonable rate, A buyer may charge more than you expected because he/she may have chances to increase revenue every day by posting an article on the site.

Sedo and Godaddy is for selling domains and buying domains.

I have been active once on a site,where was some type of market,where were members selling their own websites.I don't remember the name of the site,but I know,that you have to be a verified member on that site to be able to sell or buy something.You can simply type in the search bar the thing that you are looking for,and you will find many options,from where you can choose.

I think empireflippers seems to be the site where the high valued sites can be easily sold. though you may have to really work hard for getting such sites going. I don't think it'd be easier either way. But you can easily get it listed at the most. you can also get into the flippa too.
