ICOs = Initial Coin Offerings

ICOs are very popular on cryptocurrency market and many specialist says that these are Ponzi schemes or HYIPS [High Yield Investment Programs].

Bassically it's all about creating a new coin and earn from buying/selling it for other coins on the crypto exchange market.

What's your opinion about investing in ICOs?

I really dont have plan in participating/investing in an ICO. Most of the times I just join their bounty programs to receive free coins. No risk, just free coins and earn from selling it.

First ICO I saw on the ads is RISE or RICE back in 2015 I think. I almost invested on it but being new to this back then I gave it some thoughts read their white paper and felt like I am more on the losing end should this ICO fail but what if it took off? That's the dilemma I have with ICO.

Hi guys! Just wandering what ICO's do you guys invest on? Since a lot of ICO's are lurking now. Some are probably are really really great in the future and some are just pure pump and dump figure. So, what do you guys invest on?

Investing in ICO is just like gambling cos there are numerous coins out there and it a matter of Luck for the coin to rise after launch. You can pick ICO that are mostly advertised anyway

You can make some tidy profit when your stock booms(which is rare) or you are left rowing down shit creek without a paddle.
Invest in ICOs having peer-to-peer platforms where you can stake, lend and trade within the platform with others( greater success rate) and invest only your spare cash to avoid 'touching' stories.
The best is to get free tokens that can be redeemed for cash or other cryptos.

ICO(Intial coin offering) or crowd sale commonly known. ico are released for collecting funds to develop their project. there is no proof that it will launched the coin there may be scams and also it is a great opportunity for investment but do your research on ico, team, their marketing and choose a ico which solves major issues, there are good icos which have taken a good profits like eos.

Many people are saying this is gonna be big, the next btc, and so on. People blindly buy something which they don't completely understand. To be safe, do a thorough research. :)

I have been told that if I wanted to research an ICO i would have to look on to its whitepapaper(roadmap, owner, history etc) but has there been a time when this whitepaper been faked, and if there has been such events how can I be safer from identifying the fakes and the legit ones? Would really help me a lot to know more things to consider in the future.

Remember, most of altcoins came or are coming from a project; this project creates its own ICO to get funds. Even Ether (Ethereum coin-ETH) was born from a project - Smart Contract development. Cryptocurrencies exists because projects are being developing and because there is an exchange market. ICO's were important (year 2017) for this ecosystem and 2018 will probably be stronger but....ICO's are going to be strongly regulated which is not bad. You can see what happened to the Munchee Platform and its ICO. Now, the Financial Commission issues ICO certifications creating a path for legal statements.
Choose an ICO, make a strong and deep research and do it! Be part of the funding. Learn to wait 2/3 months to get your tokens, wait for the tokens to be present in the exchanges and trade or stake.
Do not endorse someone else's opinion.
Bounty and Airdrop are available in most of the ICO´s.

Happy Hunting.

Celebrities are promoting ICO, for example a new altcoin named 'Bitcoiin' is coming it's ICO is now available which is being promoted by Steven Seagal.

Marketing? I think so due the large amount of ICO's available. I can remember right now the Paris Hilton ICO. The question would be, why an ICO needs a celebrity to be promoted?

Celebrities want Money, and launchers wants famous name for their currency; so this is marketing deal between them. People do not support all ICO, so luring trick will be added.

I don't intend to invest in ICOs for now, what I do is to join at the earliest state of the coins launched for the free coins during it beta stage and then be able to have access to them but intend to invest later when I have a fair knowledge about it.

Better to take free airdrops instead of ICO investment, this is worth for us and will give us better experience of money making in cryptocurrencies.
