A uniswap Trader who also happens to go by the Reddit name proudbitcoiner mistakenly paid the sum of $9500 as has fee while trying to send $120 Ether.
In his tweet , he explained that he made mistake by putting 200,000Gwei in his Metamask uniswap link as gas price instead of gas fee limit. He ended up saying that this has destroyed his life . Is there a way that this money can be reversed ?

The money is gone so far the transaction has been executed , the person should have cross checked before doing transaction like this

It was a mistake of putting the money in gas fee instead of gas limit . I felt his pain after reading the news because money lost to gas fee can't be retrieved again

I wonder what was going through is mind when he did the transaction I mean this is really bad and with what I read gas fees are unreversable not even coin sent to the wrong address

It looks like he's a new trader, he clearly mistaken gas fee as gas limit, anyway $9000 is a lot, hope there're good people out there who would help him

Yeah its irreversible i would have love it if someone could open a go fund me account for him because he might be going through depression now

This mistake of his is really a high one. Tbis money is just too much to be forgotten just like that. About getting it back I doubt this happening. He should just be careful next time

I also doubt if he is going to get it back , only people could support him now even if its 50% of the money , it would go a long way

I don't think that this is a matter of being a new trader . I think it is more of not taking time to read the transaction details before carrying out the transaction

New trader or not ,people actually make mistakes ,since no body is above mistakes, but this will serve as a lesson to others that want to do transfer

Yes you are right, frequent trader sometimes also skip reading the details cause they felt used to it, and in this case one mistake cost a lot, well at the very least we could learn from his mistake

Seriously I have also learnt from this mistake . I wonder what I could have done if I made such a huge mistake. I think blockchain should be structured in such a way that when some abnormal transaction is about to happen , the user will be given a prompt to confirm it

This is really a nice idea because i keep seeing news of this type and am very sure a lot of people are also loosing money to this on a daily , something need to be done

I once lost something similar to what he lost. I was trying to stake my lead token but it wasn't going and I continued without knowing that the gas fee are deducted

Yeah but how much was the worth of lead because when i am trying to make large transactions i only consider checking it again to confirm if its correct

Like a second confirmation maybe?if the transaction is lets say more than $200 there will be a notification and the user needs to confirm it a second time to continue the trade.

To avoid such incidence from happening, it is always advisable to maintain two ethereum addresses in the SAME wallet.

One as the (1) main ethereum address and the (2nd) ethereum address for transactions.

When you need to send a transaction, transfer the required amount
only + gas fees to the 2nd ethereum address.

This way you can save yourself from such losses.

I think what if he still made same mistake on the second ETH address and increase the gas fee again to a high extent , its best to have total focus
