I'm aware internet marketing was cost-effective years back, when it was new to the web world.

But how is the situation now? Which is cost-effective? Traditional or internet marketing?

What is your niche.
if your is tech related or you customers are techy then internet marketing is better option
But if your customers are from other section that does not need to operate with tech related
Then traditional is better

It depends on the product you are marketing and your targeted audience . If it is an internal product that will be available to a particular geographical area then traditional marketing will be better but if it is a service that is available to the world , then internet marketing is the best

In those times where most people live in rural areas they usually do door to door marketing and service just to market their products to the consumers

That type of marketing is still been used in this modern time and it's also been used in in urban areas but it's no more common again

I totally agree with that. Like here in my country, digital marketing doesn't work right across the country because there are many people out there who don't have access to the internet. For those, we tend to use print media, Tv as well as radio commercials.

You need hoardings, sales person, cost for Ads in newspapers and pamphlets, etc.

I think that internet marketing is the cost effective one. Traditional marketing is costlier when you consider all that goes with it.
