Hello guys , how are you all doing ?
if you are a business owner like me I guess the covid 19 problem has affected your business somehow

I just want to ask you guys how this pandemic affected your business ?
and what is the solutions that you are taking to save your business ?

For me :
I have a cash on delivery business so when this pandemic happened my business stopped totally because I don't have a car to deliver and also my city is quarantined so my solution for my business is I'm using a delivery compny that helps me to deliver my products to clients
yes the sells are low not like before the pandemic but I'm making those decision to not kill my brand

in my country the governement didn't do that but she let people open their stores and I'm sure that this is gonna let to a make the problem more bigger to be honest
On the bright side of it people won't worry about feeding and meeting their ends meet but at the other hand, the spread of the virus might increase rapidly since the best option to cave it is staying at home

Yes indeed! That's my business, I own a private kindergarten. Thankfully where I live cases are down to zero and everything is reopening. It is hard, and will be hard for many months to come becuase of the massive debt now have - but at least we are on the road to recovery!
That's a plus for you at least there is hope of generating income unlike our country that is yet to decide when schools will reopen because the number of cases are not decreasing yet.

Yes, I am very happy to live in a country that locked down hard, and in one where people followed the rules and so the lockdown worked!

Here, aside from the masks, things are back to normal. It is very strange not being able to leave the country, I normally travel a fair bit, but I know how lucky I am! I hope that the rest of the world can recover soon, but I worry it might be a long, long time yet…

Yea the pandemic really affect many business..but with the easing of lockdown some company are now providing conducive environment to there workers to help them resume
Indeed they are but it means more spending for them , as they need to maintain social distancing guide line in their company .
Indeed we will see the effect of covid-19 for a long time .

That is true … when we reopened our business we had a lot of expenses, PPE for staff, sterilizing equipment etc etc, there were lots of inspections and red tape~ not easy to reopen!

My country is way too weak economically to impose complete lockdown, so only social distancing and multiple handwashing plus mandatory mask are imposed. The economy slows down but not entirely killed.

Before the pandemic, I had started doing some academic writing jobs. Then when the pandemic started, the jobs are no longer available. I guess it is because schools were closed and there are no more research projects to do.

The economics are important, but far more so is the attitude of the people. Look at America, they have the economic resources, but they have failed worse than any other country in the world: because so many people there have such a poor attitude.
You mention in your country for example masks are required: same as mine, and we wear them! In America people get shot and killed when they try an enforce that law!!

That's what i
The pandemic has totally crippled school activities,as such,we teachers are now home.we the private school teachers are worst hit because, unlike government school teachers who still get there monthly stipend,we in private schools no longer get.
But the good side is we now do more home lessons
This is one problem with private institutions. At time like this , they hardly stand up to their responsibility.
Glad you are earning from home lessons. I wondered what could have happened , if you are not opportune to home lessons.

You can't really blame private institutions on this.. They're just acting based on instructions to avoid the bad consequences but I think they should protest or something because it seems like the Government abandoned them
I don't think they need to follow any instructions , when it comes to paying their workers , it is their responsibility alone .
Is true also that , they don't earn from school fees this time , but they should give out stipends to their workers .

Agreed! I own a private school and during the virus we made sure all our employees had somewhere to live and enough money for food and essentials. As we are a small business we couldn't afford to pay salaries when we were closed, but at least we made sure our employees could survive. I think businesses that did less than that should be ashamed.

Problem with this is that not all businesses have enough fund to be spend during crisis like this. In a lot of countries, many small businesses are already struggling before Corona, and now after the virus hits, many of them tumbling down

I don't have my own business but I work for a company and it's affected a lot. Many customers have cancelled their orders and others have told us to postpone these for 3-4 months which means there will be very less work and the salaries will be cut too so all in all it's just getting very difficult.

Wow that's a good thing to hear , at least you showed concern to your workers , unlike some schools that abandoned their workers in thus critical period , living them to suffer .

That's true. Good examples are department stores - a lot of them have closed during this virus - but it wasn't really the virus that killed them - it just made it quicker. But, as they were doing very badly before the virus they can't have had many resources left.

But, plenty of companies (like airlines) were making billions in profit - and still claim they cannot support their workers....

Yup, the problem is the rich here. While most of us get stuck in our home they're able to spend their time in their luxury yacth somewhere in the middle of the ocean. Take Amazon for example - they don't want to protect their workers by providing them with basic personal equipment.

It has not been easy due to effect of covid 19 pandemic that is currently ravaging the whole world. I'm into computer business, and it is badly hit because all my customers are now at home which lead to zero patronage.

The business I'm managing on behalf of someone was affected because I'm unable to send goods to customers outside my state and carrying cost of goods was times two of the normal cost due high transportation cost during the lockdown. We're just getting back on track
Indeed I understand your pain . my friend that travelled home to see his parents was charged times two of what he used to pay before.
There is also another inter state lock down , that may be implemented if the case keeps rising , and this will affect businesses.

I don't have any job of my own am a student but I do help my mum at her restaurant from time to time when am around...but now we can't even go to the restaurant talk more of opening it...this cocud 19 has affected us alot and we're losing
That's odd . in my Area , restaurants were not fully forced to close during the lockdown , they were allow to sell to people , but with the condition that , the buyers will take the food home .
