SRM Medical College Hospital & Research Centre is the teaching hospital of SRM Medical College. They started in 2005 with compassion and empathy for human life as our core values. Their 32-acre SRM IST campus houses 1590 beds providing tertiary care along with 24x7 emergency and trauma care. They provide treatments across 52 departments including Superspeciality departments like Cardiology, Nephrology, Urology, Neurosurgery etc.

What are your views on this company?

I was not aware that they are into Medical Colleges and Hospitals too. Their engineering college and technology college has got a lot of popularity in recent times. I know of youngsters in friends and family who have gone there for studying engineering and other branches. Chennai is the main campus. Now they are coming up with more campuses too. They are Private institutes and with the kind of money that they make, they must be having a good infrastructure

Yeah. SRM college mainly excels in engineering field. Many of my friends have completed their degree in this college. They have many branches in tn state other than Chennai too. There are many SRM students from outside state of tn as well like from Bangalore and Andhra , because of the high reputation of this college in terms of placements and infrastructure.

I was not aware of them until recently when one of my friend's son joined it. They do have good infrastructure at least in Chennai. I don't hear good reviews about their Campus near Delhi. Some even feel that expanding it so fast is compromising their quality too. They are also open to huge capitation fees for seats. Some negative feedback too is there.
What about their medical colleges? Criteria and eligibility? Locations? Can you provide some more information . That would be helpful.

Yeah expanding colleges to more locations decreases the quality. Same happened with MIT Jaipur , their main campus is in Manipal which has very good infrastructure. Private colleges do take lot of fees because of the infrastructure, that's the reason why I choose state college that involved admission through state entrance exam.

SRM medical College accepts admission through NEET , I guess. Also they can accept management admission. Their main campus is in Chennai , also in some other places of tn like Trichy. They offer both UG and PG admissions.

Thank you for your detailed explanation. I am yet to meet someone who has studied there or has taken any medical services there to know more about them and get a feedback from the experience. We just hope that it's a good health service at reasonable affordable price . Our country needs that. With our kind of population, the number of medical colleges and hospitals are still not enough and still less with quality. And unfortunately, most private ones are more into money making.

We just hope that it's a good health service at reasonable affordable price . Our country needs that. With our kind of population, the number of medical colleges and hospitals are still not enough and still less with quality. And unfortunately, most private ones are more into money making.

But there are good and reputed hospitals though, along with quality service. I am not much aware of the local hospitals or government ones. Thats right, India is still lagging in medical area for sure considering its growing population and needs.

That is the unfortunate situation and it's been there for ages now. Though in last few years I have noticed some improvement in government hospitals especially with hygiene. But it's still a lot to do. Ayushman Bharat has benefited many but that's not enough. Some more affordable health insurance should come up for middle class. Many government hospitals are at par excellence but too crowded.

Government hospitals cater to the humongous population of our country, and I would say our healthcare system is still doing a very commendable job with its modest infrastructure to maintain its service standard. We only need a bit more hospitals in the suburbs and remote towns to reduce the congestion in the hospitals.
