I have a domain name and host which I am thinking to create a graphics community. I prefer wordpress to start. Want help to suggest me if I should start a community of a multi-author blog for graphic design/icon/photo...promotion.

* Buddypress media is not seo friendly I think and another plugin is required to search profile and media. So I can not design the site to fit for graphic community site.

* I can start a forum for the same.

* Or should I go with multi-author blog.

In terms of search engine optimization forum software are not that great.
For sure WordPress on-page optimization will help you rank faster.

Building online communities are pretty hard, if you wanna stand out you will need to spend some bucks, the first investment it's small "script + skin", the expensive part is the foundation and advertising right after to kickstart the forum. Continuous advertising to maintain it. Plus you need a lot of time to maintain the forum clean, human spam is driving me nuts sometimes. Good luck!
