I just received notification that Receipt Hog is going under and the last day to upload receipts and collect payment is March 27th. I am sad to see this app go. With this app, you upload your shopping receipts and collect points that can be cashed in through PayPal or Amazon. Seems like all the sites I really like eventually close shop.

There are some alternatives out there. I just signed up for Checkout 51, where you can buy the products from the offers list on their page and earn cashback after purchasing the products and uploading the receipts. I have not explored any of the other apps out there. I just really liked Receipt Hog because it was a fun app to play around on.

You can shop wherever, snap a picture of your receipt and Receipt Hog should pay you for it! you'll be able to get payments via PayPal, unless you prefer an Amazon gift card instead.

I used to use this app a long time ago and I had to quit when I moved abroad. But now that I'm back in the US, I've started using it again. It's just as slow as I remember, but it's definitely working. You can only earn around 100 points for receipts per week so it takes a while to make it to cashout... But if they're still legit and paying, I'll hang in there since it's really no extra work for me to take a picture of my receipts.

It takes a long time to get the min payout of 5 dollars, but this app is legit.

Recently they've taken so long to approve receipts. Receipts used to approve almost immediately after you submit them but now they take 1+ days. By the time I get the approved or denied status, I'd already thrown away the receipts and can't resubmit if they were denied.

I haven't cashed out recently but yes, the app is still working and paying. I'm saving up for the higher value cashout because it's the cheapest.

This was one of my first money making apps and I have been paid a few times. I haven't used it in such a long time and here that it's not as good as it used to be.

I would be wary of this app. I used it for months, but before being able to reach the minimum cash out, they deleted my account with no reason. Support never responded either. I much prefer other receipt apps now, such as Shoppix.
