Do you think is it worth to start radio streaming website? We can find free API key or Wordpress plugin so it's not to hard to make it. We can set CPM ads, banners and earn from it but when I see Youtube, Deezer, Spotify and other free video sharing sites I'm not sure is it worth it.

I sure believe it can be profitable. It may not be as successful as Spotify or YouTube, but if you figure out something unique and get enough people to sign up; the ad revenue will be more than enough to keep things going.

I'd love to hear your ideas more in detail if you don't mind sharing them. If so, I think many people on this forum will be able to help you.

Example of site is Internet Radio where you listen hundred different stations sorted in categorys. I don't know can they be profitable since radio stations are less popular and Youtube (or other similar sites) give options for creating personal playlists.

You need to realize, you have to pay to use music that is not yours. If you are operating a radio station, but not paying royalty/user fees for the music to the artists that made the songs, then you are operating illegally. There are copyright laws involved, you can't just start playing music by other people without infringing upon those copyrights.

I know it's not fair and we can be sued by artist. But how about developers which offer plugins free plugins for radio stations? They don't ask anything, how they earn? Should somebody remove those tools?

You can simply use music that you have obtained the rights to. I have several hundred hours of live recordings from local bands that I can use without having to pay royalties, as long as the band does not object to you using them. And many independent bands will be happy to let you use their music simply for the exposure.

I've debated starting a station a few times, but I don't really have the time to devote to it and make it worthwhile.

Unless you have enough funds for the website bandwidth. I think it's better to avoid getting into this niche. Because streaming can be expensive. And you kind of struggle to get the ads for the same. Many sites and companies are struggling to make money with audio streaming. So I'd be cautious of this.

I am sorry but I would say no, it isn't worth it. In today's day and age barely anyone listens to the radio so that's a bummer... if you want to you can start up an audio streaming site with various podcasts and such and then expand onto music and songs too

Yes they are, radios can be used not only for news or entertainement purposes, but can be used as a teaching method, back when i was learning German i was using it a lot to improve my hearing skills

Oh ofcourse how could I have forgot about this... Teaching on radio is actually a rapidly growing spectrum and one can definitely try it out and it can possibly be a lucrative operation as well.

i didn't mean "teaching on radio", i actually meant using radio as a learning helpful tool , because i used it as a method to improve my hearing skills , no matter what they were streaming at that time

In theory you could make it profitable with ads and maybe donations... Lots of work, but it may be a viable thing. Bandwidth would make a constant pain if you get enough listeners. And one more thing: if I would like to listen to radio, why would I want to run a browser for it (where you can display your ads)? I wouldn't. Maybe an app for smartphones could be a bridge.

sure.. because i listen to thousands of radio stations by streaming... listen to different kinds of each country music and stay update on different world news.

I don't think so, big companies are in this business already , like Spotify and Deezer and others
they have their Radio services
so my answer would be no, I don't think it's gonna be profitable

Your goals will determine this. A streaming site may be sensible if you're just starting out and want to stream your own content. However, it might be worthwhile to look into alternative streaming options if you're hoping to monetize the project because they have a higher chance of being profitable. Additionally, keep in mind that there are expenses involved in creating and running a streaming website, such as hosting and domain fees as well as any additional marketing costs. The choice will ultimately depend on how much effort and money you are prepared to put into developing a profitable streaming website.

Whether starting a radio streaming site is worth it depends on a number of factors, including the target audience, competition, and business model.
On one hand, there is a large demand for online radio streaming as more and more people turn to the internet for music and entertainment. Radio streaming sites have the potential to reach a global audience and offer a convenient way for listeners to discover new music and connect with like-minded individuals.
On the other hand, the market for online radio streaming is highly competitive, with many established players such as Spotify, Pandora, and Apple Music. To be successful, a new radio streaming site would need to offer unique features and a compelling user experience to stand out from the competition.

Whether a radio streaming site is worth creating or not depends on a variety of factors such as your goals, target audience, and available resources. If you have a passion for radio and music, and want to create a platform to share your favorite music or promote upcoming artists,

A radio streaming site could be a great idea! There are a few factors to consider, though. For one, you'll need to make sure that you have the necessary technical skills to set up and maintain the site.

If you start radio stream website with reward program, how much you should pay per hour of listening so website earn money? Most people just start listen but are not anymore active in tab so ads can't be refreshed.
