Pluto Reward.jpg

I found a new app today called Pluto Rewards. There is basically no description on the app except for: "Pluto Reward: Make money online with solar reward system". I have no idea what this is. Furthermore, there is no website to check and all they seem to have is an email address.

How Does It Work?
  1. Not really sure at all there is nothing in the description. The app images only show a listing of partners that is about it.
  2. It does say that if you share your referral code they'll give you 25 points.
How Do They Pay?

  1. From the screen shot it looks like you'll need 200P in order to receive $2 in your PayPal account. 300P = $3, 500P = $5, 900P = $10 and 4000P = $50 all paid out to PayPal.
  2. They also have Amazon Gift cards that use the same point system and values as PayPal.
Conclusion:
  1. No idea who can use this app.
  2. No idea how you earn points.
  3. No idea why they list a screen full of partners.
  4. I can only find reviews with good, great, and excellent on them.
  5. The app seems to have a 4.7 rating so this leads me to believe that a person is paid to post a review for this app and give it a 5 star rating.
Questions:
  1. Has anyone ever heard of this app before?
  2. Have you seen anyone promoting this app?
  3. Do you even know how this app works?
  4. Have you ever tried to download this app and use it before?
  5. Do you know if this is an international app or a regional app that only works for certain countries or areas?
Any help in understand this app would be appreciated. It has a nice design and layout from the pictures it is displaying on the Google Play Stoer.

I've actually seen this app before in my app store. I looked into it once, but decided that it wasn't worth my time/wasn't worth sharing on here. It smells like a scam to me mainly because the company that started this app (App Promote Inc) also has about a dozen other apps that look just like Pluto Rewards. That's very, very suspicious and apps that have the same generic 'layout' like PR are well-known for being dummy apps. They'll trick people into working for them, but won't actually pay. There are many apps out there just like that.

And you're right that most of their reviews are fake. You'll see that most of them don't have any comments... just the rating. That's because the raters don't actually use the app. They're just getting paid some money or reward to rate this app 5 stars.

I personally won't try this app because I don't think it's actually legit. But that's just my opinion.

This company that you mentioned has 35 other apps out there. They give a website to go to and it is non existent. I checked on a few of their apps and it is like this one. One line description and nothing else. I need to make a listing of these apps by this company and add them to my website for people to stay away from. It is really hard for me to believe that the Google Play Store will allow these people to keep posting their apps there that are not paying and scam people. I think they should be removed from the Google Play Store. Not sure how that one can happen, but it would be a good idea to warn people about all of these apps. Thanks for the heads up on this one.

Unfortunately, Google won't do much to help nor will they take their apps off. I've reported some in the past but nothing has been done. This isn't the first company to do something like this and if you ever see two apps that look almost identical in layout, it's pretty much 99% a scam. I think such layouts can be purchased or made easily and then the companies just change the name. It's a fast and easy way to scam people.

The sad thing is they have 35 of these apps that are all the same. I'm working on reporting them right now on the site and writing all this up. I had to ask what type of a report I should do on this one and was told to add them all into one because it is all from the same company. I'll get them up on here soon.

It's nice that you're reporting them but again, I don't think it'll be much help. Google Play won't remove them unless there are many complaints.

In the past, many companies used the same method to scam people. Some even have one 'main' app where they will pay each user when they cashout for the first time (so people will say they are legit) and then never pay again. The apps related to this app (which people will assume is legit since it's from the same company) will never pay but people are tricked into working for them because they've been paid by the main app. Companies are really trying hard and using different tricks to scam now.

I have found a lot of apps like this during my time investing programs online. I won't be reporting the apps to Google. I am reporting them on my website under a brand new page I created today. I'll be adding them all there so people can find them there. I'll also create one post here with the topic of all these apps inside so people on this forum and anyone who visits here can find them and not use them or recommend them to others.
