Follow Along Newbie with domain and paying rent to dreamhost

Hey everyone
I got my own domain and paying rent for service with dream host. Was going to blog and start web page later for fun an make a few bucks and learn as I went. Now with the covid I'm out of work and need to learn the money making side fast. My domain name is dorkxperience.com . Any ideas what I can do with this to start paying the bills fast ?
Thank you for any help

9.00 a month with email. The bills I was talking about paying though is my house and other books
For hosting, I suggest buying a year package from Namecheap that cost under $20 for a full year and you can "forget" about this bill. You see as a newbie you don't need that many hosting resources, why overpay for a service you don't actually use?

As for the purpose of the blog, I am not sure about your background with internet and cannot advise unless you shed some light, when you started, what you tried, what works, what not, etc. And after reading your journey so far I can give you a little bit of advice from my own experience. I once started just like you with a single blog that cost me less than $20.

Bills* auto correct. Lol

My experience with blog and website is pretty much none. Dreamhost has WordPress and many other web page building options. I've done paid for a year with them so building my page is pretty easy to build nice page. I was going to take the year I paid and learn as I went to see if I could make money at it by blogging and building followers and directing traffic to my webpage. Still trying to find a niche. Lol. But now with the covid 19 I'm out of work and hoping to find a faster way to get some money flowing. I know faster is not the right way to start but running out of cash fast. I'm open to any suggestions. If I can get it going quick, I figure I can always start a blog and another webpage and take my time to build a following and solid money making page in the future.
Thank you for taking the time to help.

Hmmm... I understand my friend... Covid made a lot of people lose their jobs.

Let me be straight and frank with you, blogging is a business model that will make you money 2 years after a lot of hard work(daily posting initially, then weekly posting). That's if we are optimistic and you choose a niche with less competition and you put a lot of effort daily to push original content like I said, create backlinks etc.

So this blog you want to build should be a side project, but for your main online project what you think of trying? What business model attract you?

I'm kinda thinking with the vivid 19 and the presidential election results. That everyone is going to be thinking that America is going to go to hell and be looking to buy bug out supplies and learn basic survival skill, stock up on guns and ammo. Maybe dropshipping what everyone is looking for even though I know a lot about that stuff I'm also wise enough to know that the market for that is pretty well covered. So IDK lol ! I'd take your best idea and look into it. I wouldn't hold it against you if I failed at it. If I can't get something going in next 6 months I'd be happy and then go ahead with building my blog and webpage later with different domain and the web hosting site that you recommend later. Thank you for your help

I said work on this blog, no problem, do not leave it on stand by, work on it as a side project but to actually see serious money generated by this blog it will take about 2 years, I am talking this blog to generate a couple thousands of dollars per motnh in best case scenario, in worst case maybe couple hundred bucks, again I remind you that's if you put your blood and sweat and work your ass like crazy pushing articles every day, creating backlinks and driving traffic. Your goal is to generate targeted traffic that converts into a sale, and there you have it your commissions. There's plenty of services and products you can promote to grab your cut for promoting them.

Now, do you understand the perspective where you put your blogging business?

If yes, let's talk about other ways to make money faster online. And for this, I need to know what skills you have my friend.

As far as web sites as you know none. Life skills body and paint man for first ten years of my life then carpenter after that I went out west and gold mined for almost 15 years, I come back home for a year because I had gold and could afford to take a year off. While I was doing my year off I ran across my high school sweetheart and fell back in love with her. So I been here in the dirty south working in a factory for the last 3 years. Because she had 2 sons and doesn't want to leave them other wise I'd be back out west with a pocket full of gold. Lol I hope that helps some but probably not.
I really do thank you for helping me especially it being Christmas Eve and all

Hmmm... So no internet skills such as coding, web design, server administration, video editing maybe?
I am trying to find skills that you can actually monetize faster since you said you need cash fast and not after 2 years.

No problem, here on BMF I try my very best to help members out.

No years ago I played around a little with coding and hacking but that was just me being a teen and stuff. I'm sure a lots changed since then. Really though now days just surveys and nickle an dime stuff everything just short of selling nude pics haha I'd be bad broke then 40yr old beer drinking male can't do that. But I'm a fast learner and willing to learn. Ive been busting my ass looking over google and ig I just had my sites set on doing my own thing with my own web page and blog. The reason why my domain is named dorkxpereince.com is my blog is going to be about all my dork ass mistakes and what I've learned about in life and get a following and slowly start suggesting different gadgets and other web sites and other bloggers that have helped me along the way (bmf is definitely going to get a mention in my blog) but I knew it's going to be a long learning road and I'm still going to do this and work my ass off doing it. I then ran across bmf in my Google searching and joined a few months ago. Been looking on here from time to time quietly in the back ground until today I decided I need some help or it going to be harder. So I posted. I know there's no easy way. I'm willing to work hard at what ever I do. Thank you again
