This is nice improvement. Thank you Mr.B for your constant effort in making and improving BMF for us . This is good as it will go a long way in promoting good relationship with people close to us.

If i was to be honest i really DISLIKE how this was enabled by default. Some members really care about their online privacy and most of them might not be aware that this feature exist. Not every one is following the BMF office category, personally i was just also fortunate to come across this post.

I would suggest opt-in out all users by default and allow the map to be only visible to users who opt-in for the feature, that way i can't view other member location if i don't enable mine.

I haven't used this but cause among all BMF features, this is the only one i don't see much use to cause if i personally want to know members location in my area, existing features are currently sufficient e.g i can use the chat section, create a thread in the general section or politely send a message (via profile or PM) to any user am interested in. This feature IMO might just promote spying.

Just because i care about my privacy by not allowing every tom, dick and harry to view confidencial information about me doesn't mean i do shady things online.

Moreover judging that users that don't follow announcement don't deserve much from you is really bad TBH. How am to know about this when this is not a sticky post and it is buried in the a sub category that is regularly updated by random unimportant post (e.g post from newbies asking questions that they can easily find answers to if they look carefully in the forum)?

If you really want people to easily notice announcement, try and send a general notification to all members or at least make the post sticky.

Whatever judgment you make, it's your forum...

You share your exact address on Facebook already. Here we offer a way to disable appearing on the map, we also offer a way to change your location where you want, like put fake location if that's what you want, and you still not happy. I have nothing else to say. see you around.

Some key things to note, this feature does not work on mobile (at least for me) also IMO it beat the whole point of the feature if users are allowed to add fake locations. Am just trying to add my honest feedback/suggestion/opinion here but it seems you don't like it (which is totally cool)... this is where i drop my pen!

This feature was interesting until I found no one near me so I turned it off in privacy settings.
