1. External banner ads revenue like CoinAd
2. External text ads like AnonymousAds
3. Using visitors CPU to mine cryptocurrencies like JSEcoin
4. Popup advertisements like MellowAds
5. Popunder advertisements like MellowAds
6. Automatic video play advertising like Video Intelligence

do these work for people who just visit my domain or just click on a banner ad ?

There are many CPM ad networks in the business. You have to choose the ad network depend on your website.
Like,
  1. Monthly Inpressions
  2. No. of daily unique visitors
  3. Your domain name
  4. Type of your site (Adult or not)
  5. Location most of your users are from
  6. Quality of the content in your website

I think page view based visits have reduced a lot for the advertising. but it seems like there are some really good option in passt. these days most of the earning goes with click based actions. so that's the thing about the page view based earning that has been reduced lately.

Yes, you are right.
Earning only for the view/impressions are low. But, you can make good amount of money if you have high traffic for your website.

No. When visitor just visit your domain, that is pageview. When visitor click banner or somewhere else on page and ads pop up, that is impression.

Some people will call it like you said. But if you register at any advertiser site and add their ads on your site, then impressions are only clicks on you ads. Look screenshots from PopAds or PopCash.

Give me example of such advertiser. For most of them visitor needs to click on add. Only on mobile redirection visitor don't have to click anywhere, but he also never visit your site.

MellowAds, Anonymous Ads, CoinAd, etc. They are great advertising networks but I still like AdHitz cause when I advertise in AdHitz, I wil only pay if the banner I advertise somebody click unlike those 3 sites I will pay every 1,000 people see the banner ad I advertise even visitors don't click them.
