Make Money "Stealing" YouTube Videos [GUIDE]

Many people don't know about this legal method to make money "stealing" YouTube videos and reupload them with or without modification or creating video remixes, video compilations etc to make money.

Did you heard of Creative Commons on YouTube?
YouTube allows users to mark their videos with a Creative Commons CC BY license. These videos are then accessible to YouTube users for use, even commercially, in their own videos via the YouTube Video Editor.

In other words described there's video creators that allow other people like you and me reuse their videos in any way we want, we can earn money off them too, more info here.

How to find Creative Commons videos on YouTube?
Go to YouTube and type in the search bar the following: desired "keywords" + "comma" + "creativecommons"

ie: "cars, creativecommons" or "pets, creativecommons", or "iPhone, creativecommons" etc...

Choose any video you like and in the description section click [SHOW MORE] and at the bottom you'll see:
License: Creative Commons Attribution license (reuse allowed)
Remix this video

You must click "Remix this video" and you'll be taken to YouTube editor to reuse as you wish this video. There's thousands of YouTubers trying to make money stealing videos from others and they end up with their Youtube account banned, this is the only legal way. Your account will never get banned if you use videos with a Creative Commons CC BY license.

Video is not usable due to a copyright claim. ===> Search Other Videos

What are you waiting for? Go! Start remixing videos to make $$$!

I just tried with one of Iphone video as you suggested to search Creative Common license and did in a similar method. It says Video is under copyright, tried with three to 4 videos and all gone under copyright.

Video is not usable due to a copyright claim.

Could you give a try ane let me know if it really works or not. I am looking to make videos using images as it is the only last method for creating videos.

Hi @suresh
Yes , I got that message too, I already said that in the tutorial and you must search other videos till you find them.
Yeah, I missed that part in Red text lines. I did a search again to see the results. This time i went to the 5th page and found one video that was ready for remixing as it don't have enough views. I finally got 2 to 3 videos in few minutes, but didn't made remixing.

Do you think good for editing videos using our own software and re uploading them on YouTube? In my view it looks more good than remixing, but still didn't made anything so far.
Any idea by downloading, adding text, transcription, captions to it and re uploading to the YouTube.

Wow, I was not aware about this thing. Since these videos have creative commons license, we can modify and use it again. This is all legal. However, the main question is: is this ethical way to make money. Even though youtube allows you to do this, you are actually stealing money.

@suresh I've checked on Google and some says is allowed to download CC videos and edit them some says is not.
When you have time and check yourself do let us know your findings, I'm very interested. Thanks a million!

Buddy! One time you say "...we can modify and use it again..." and later you say "...This is all legal..."

Let me clarify this: under terms of Youtube is legal to reuse CC videos because creators of the videos allows you to do this, you're not stealing money by using CC videos, you steal money if you use standard licensed videos from YouTube.

You may not be stealing but your trying to eat the same pie someone else is snacking on and all you are going to accomplish is both of you are going to go hungry. I'd strongly advise anyone who wants to make any real money on the net to find their own niche and not trying carving a piece out of someone else's.

This certainly is something I'm going to use to initially build my youtube channel. Making videos can be time consuming and if resuing someone else's content [someone who doesn't object and has proved so by choosing a Creative Commons License] can save me some time then I'm all for it.

And it most certainly isn't stealing money. Odds are the audience you'll reach may never have found the video and money you make off the video isn't "stolen" because you'll have to work hard to promote the videos to build an audience as you may not get any traffic from search engines - the original video will always outrank yours after all.

Wow! Now that's all the motivation I need to get started immediately.

I've heard it said that if a traditional blog gets say 20,000 visitors a month and a youtube vid gets viewed 20,000 times in one month, the Vlogger would make more money.

Is this true?

This really depends on the niche and the monetization. On average the CPM on Youtube is between $1 - $3. So for 20k views you could get $60 at maximum but with blog + affiliate products you could make couple sales and reach $300 - $500 from same 20k views.

But as your YT channel grows you could be making $60 from each posted video every day, but you need around 100k subs for this. I'm preparing an YouTube channel myself, now I'm waiting for my new PC to come. After that will start with gaming and IM tutorials to grow this forum. Yes, will be hard to make a successful Youtube channel but I like what I do and is freaking easy...

What i could is they are copy right protected and you can't reuse them, this is what I seen from the first video.
Here is a screen shot of the video that is reused by me and the adsense was for the creator only, so they are waste for us.
If you re-mix or redit them by downloading also could get ban. I suggest you all use your own videos as Google doesn't stand for their own terms.

I agree with this.

1. Yes, you can steal someone else´s video. But you are still going to have to compete with that video on youtube search, and Youtube is certainly going to display the older one with more views first. It is the same way Google search handles duplicate content.. it gives full credit to the original, and any duplicates get buried in the search results.

2. You are still going to have to get visitors to your video. THIS is the hardest part of making money on the internet anyway. By stealing a video, you are only really accomplishing the easiest part of the process.

3. Risking your adsense account. If this feels sleazy, and if it is something that seems ´too good to be true´.. then more than likely Google Adsense is not going to like it.

My own personal guess is the amount of effort you are going to do finding videos for this is going to be more than what you earn.

I never heard about stealing YouTube videos to make money. I guess those who are having trouble to make their own videos can use this method and this will help them to earn too. Thank you for sharing about that. It's very interesting.

Sounds very interesting but what if YOUTUBE caught us stealing those videos or the right owner find us and report our videos. I hope its legal to steal on YOUTUBE LOL. Thanks for the suggestion it will help YOUTUBERS.

You may earn some ample amount of money doing such thing but then you will lose your credibility and reputation at the same time. Firstly it's unethical and in some cases a way illegal cause whether you like it or not, this is stealing. Robbing other people's creative work is not a proper way of earning money.

yeah its not ethical to do and I guess it involves a lot of risk being caught as well and I also feel about the original right owner of the videos, how will they feel if they see there videos getting steeled.

When YouTube was just still an ordinary video sharing website, these problems rarely occur since people really don't mind it all. But as time goes by, people realized that they could actually earn from uploading their videos and so they monetized their content. And people stealing other people's content has become an issue.

Read the first topic because I can see you haven't.
Creative Commons videos are "stolen", means it's free to do so, using them is not actually stealing them.
