Are you a student ? that means that you're on a budget . Like every student , you'll need a laptop / PC for your studies and you'll be mostly in need of Microsoft Office .
but as i said before , you're a student , so , that's a lot of money for any student :

Well, that's not an issue anymore :D
LibreOffice is an open source equivalent and alternative to Microsoft office , that's free and much less demanding when it comes to hardware .

PROS :

Free
Less hardware demanding
Has an alternative of almost every popular microsoft office product

Much easier to use

Cons :

Not popular
Projects made with LibreOffice can't be opened with microsoft office products , which means you have to get Libreoffice installed in the other computers to open the files in them .

LibreOffice can be downloaded by clicking here!

I like it but it they should add more support for docx format since many companys use it and when you open it, it can be many differences especially in image positions. Also, Writer should add option to save document directly in .pdf format.

also docx is an extension that's related to microsoft , so they can't use it , also , i believe that anyone that works with companies or something that is capable enough to buy MS Office instead of using this , this is just a budget alternative for people that cant afford ms office

There is an option in Writer to export as PDF, I think it was there since I started using it. Also MS had to give in, and recent MS Word versions do handle ODF (open document format), which Writer uses by default. There are glitches with layouts until this day, but I recall what kind of hell was Writer a few years back, so I think this is progress indeed. I have to add that there is still much work to do on this software bundle, but where I am able to choose, I use LibreOffice.

What is difference between Export and Save as? I see MS Word have both for .pdf but Writer have only export. If it is same function why would MS Word have it on two places?

i guess the difference between them is the same as the difference in the other softwares , you use 'save as' to save your project to edit it later , but you use export to render the final project

If you use Save as .pdf you can't change pdf later. Since you can't change it later it would same as render the final project. Advantage of .pdf is you can't change it later.

Yes in MS Word you have options Save as pdf and Export PDF/XPS. Why it has both options if they do same thing? Writer only have Export as PDF.
Actually they don't do the same thing , as you said above , you can't edit pdf , so you use 'save as' to save the content of the pdf and 'export' to render the final pdf , you can edit after 'save as' but not after 'export'

I really need this in my university projects
I always struggle with Word because when you have the free version it open only on the web and it's so annoying sometimes the window close and I lose everything
I will download this thank you

That's where it shines, even if microsoft office is professional and more popular but this can get the job done easily as well and not much demanding considering computer's hardware

Well, it's a huge pain to pay for the microsoft office, but since i'm living in a 3rd world country i have to use the cracked version that's literally full of problems that you can't imagine, thanks for sharing this!
