The recent panel discussion held by International bank of settlement on Crypto banking was where the leader of most powerful central bank in person of Jerome Powell said that cryptocurrency are too volatile and they are not back by anything as such they are not ideal for wealth preservation or store of value.

He added that it is more of a speculative asset that's essentially for substitute for gold than a dollar.

I disagree with his view especially where coins like bitcoin and ethereum are concerned. Bitcoin is a better asset that can yield high gains on it within a short time frame. Although as he correctly said, it may not be backed by anything tangible but as long as the demand stands, the value increases.

Well , this is an evidence that he does not fully understand what cryptocurrency is all about ,less he won't have been saying so .

Sure, Cryptocurrency is not backed by anything other than the investors who.. majority holders are Billionaires and huge companies. Volatility is an asset another reason why it's ideal for investment

I share on your sentiment, it is not truly back by anything but considering the huge number of people holding it including some reputable organization, it is as strong as any other commodities .

Maybe even better than things backed by the government since those whales wouldn't let their money go to waste or be burned. They have a lot of influence on the price

The Investors are the pillar behind Crypto currencies likes in real life commodities too, the consumers are the pillar. Cryptocurrency will continue to exist

Sure and will soon get enough backing that it needs . People who will be late adopters of bitcoin will regret coming late into bitcoin

May be in coming days bigger companies will embrace Bitcoin as Google included in it payment options. I am not if YouTube has done the same thing.

Finally google have included Cryptocurrency payment, that's a big step for both google and Cryptocurrency. I know shortly YouTube gonna add it up too, cos google holds the right of YouTube.

If YouTube is yet to add then I hope soonest though I am not sure if it accept or pay members through bitcoin or not. I hope Facebook also join the trend if they are yet to.

If the information i got here is true about google that means YouTube will soon be disbursing its users money via crypto cos google own it too. Facebook is just kicking around trying to develop their own coin that will take them five years before being tradable.

Even if they plan to develop their coin which is a stable coin , for it to function or grow in market capitalization they must pair it with bitcoin and other big coins.

That's true. It gonna be a long process with facebook own potential coin (Diem). Only time will tell when they'll make it go live on the market and become tradable for all.

If Facebook tries to make it stable again , then they are going to face more challenge from the SEC and other Institutional bodies . They need not to repeat the first mistake

I also think that it is a a matter of time. With the so many crypto related videos on YouTube, I think that the platform has given in to valuing crypto use.

The way the Facebook wants to operate I guess it is reason why they are having setback because they wanted to use by their members and every other person should be to use to buy stuffs anywhere..

Yes we know that crypto are too volatile and at the same can be used to store asset, those that stored their assets in bitcoin know fully well how the market works.

Hmm, or SEC even came to halt their progress too. SEC is really disturbing crypto growth, maybe they are doing it for good. But i view SEC as obscurity to crypto advancement. The XRP case with them, have madee dislike all their actions when it comes to crypto regulations. They have no serious proof to condemn XRP coin to such trials.

I believe after the case with Ripple is over ,and after paying compensation fee to ripple for accusing them wrongly , they will surely reduce the rate of their actions

Making such thing about crypto is annoying , despite the good deeds of crypto currency, he should make research and get everything correctly

That's what i hope for. Because Ripple will upset SEC and pull the best achievement, becoming the first organization to defeat U.S SEC, who is keeping 100% record in winning lawsuit's.

If they actually win , SEC is likely to be forced to pay compensation to ripple for tarnishing their image and affecting their business trading volume

I'll be happy to see such law put in place dear. SEC have really ruined the activities of Ripple coin. Made it slow down, by now it could've been around $1+ had it been not for SEC.

Yeah . They have stopped the company from carrying out many projects and businesses. So ripple will sue them for damages when they become triumphant
