Timonthy Lane, vice president of the Bank of Canada, said in her latest speech that cryptocurrencies will not be used as money in the future. Stating that all cryptocurrencies are flawed as a payment method, Lane said that cryptocurrencies are often used by criminals. A few of her statements are exactly as follows:
--- "Cryptocurrencies are flawed except for illegal use because they have costly payment verification methods and volatile purchasing power." ---
--- "I think the boom in prices is more of a speculative frenzy." ---

The thoughts of some country officials, especially Canadian officials, for Bitcoin can be extremely negative. Judging by her comments, the most important problem seems to be the illegal use problem.

Reading those statements of Mr. Lane seems to act lightly on those statements that he uses since he does not give a compelling reason to make one think that they are true. The current thing is that bitcoin and cryptocurrencies are the ones that take the reins in the financial world.

Well, I wouldn't fault him because I think this is the reason why there's banning everywhere now. People are just using it for money laundering and illegal means so that's the issue
