the 1st thing you need for a beehive is the queen & her workers. every yr a healthy hive will produce a new queen. who will then swarm & take about half of the workers with her. to establish a new colony. the trick is to recognize the queen & trap her. once she is trapped, the workers will follow her. you place the queen in the new hive, in the trap & the workers will follow her & protect her.

Sir, that is a misleading information. $100 can't set up a beehive that would be able to average $20 returns every month. And this is not even dependent on costs associated with location or something. Maybe $1000 can get you such a hive that would generate honey worth $30 every month. The beautiful thing is that a beehive farm can last for decades with minimal maintenance costs after initial set up.

i think too many people are speculating how much a bee hive costs, without really knowing. i live in spain, i looked into buying 2 - 4 hives for my land some yrs ago. each hive with a queen & workers was between 100 to 200 euros each. depending on the time of yr bought & the demand for hives at that moment. also, the hive comes with no guarantee. if the queen decides for any reason to leave & take her workers with her, your out of luck. your stuck with an empty box with no bees.

the price of the hive probably has gone up since i looked into buying them. in the end i didnt buy them because of possible theft. the owner of the beehives told me not to buy them as it was very probable that the hives would be stolen. unless you have them in a secure place.

then you have the cost of protective clothing, tools, repair kits, new panels, sheets of wax for the panels, plus some other things. the good thing is that once some things are bought, you dont need to rebuy as long as you take care of your tools.

then you might have to buy medication if the hive gets sick. plus some other unseen expenses.

I am a farmer and farming business is good when you have good capital to support it.
The market is there already.

another possibility to make money when you have hives, is to rent them out to farmers. to make sure that their crops get pollinated. they do that in the usa, europe & other countries. it seems to work pretty good. it all depends on what type of crops are planted in your region. also that way, yo get a wide assortment of pollen & then honey.
