Facebook is trying to limit the promotion of cryptocurrency ads in the hopes eliminating any scams. I personally think this is a good idea because there is just so many types of cryptocurrencies available now, which makes it harder to find the reliable ones. Always think before investing your hard-earned money into something suspicious, especially when it comes to cryptocurrencies.

Yes this is what I was waiting for. There are too many scams going on in Facebook especially when it comes to cryptocurrencies , and good job done to ban those scam ads.

Doesn't they also planned to launch their own cryptocurrency? Libra was it? Wonder if this move is aimed to lessen competition on their platform so that their own Crypto project gets more attentions.

Well stated. Everyone should always be at alert when trying to invest in new cryptos. For me I prefer investing in bitcoins and other popular ones like eth and litecoin.

yes. there is a lot of crypto currencies which promote their own program , and tells you to invest with them. plus there is a lot of online beginners who just would do anything to make something online.

nice move... because the rate of crypto currency scamming nowadays is too much - almost 90% cryptocurrency ads are SCAM this days.. at-least Facebook taking this process will reduce the rate.

yeah i agree , i think facebook team have done it before and they banned all of them . but now they just reduced the amount of ads .but i'am not totally sure about that.

Well Facebook is smart and probably banned these ads because they saw a lot of ads of crypto scam sites, however, this also means that people who wanted to post legit crypto ads now have to suffer

This is one disadvantage of duplication. When scammers begins to duplicate genuine sites when a harsh punishment comes it will be for all just like in this case they are so many scamming crypto coins and sites

Don't know exactly but may be to save tgeir brand reputation they took this decision. Cause people will merely tell "Scam ad was introduced by Facebook".

Yes absolutely right, no need to invest in new coins, just invest on trusted coins such as Bitcoins, etherium, litecoin etc but facebook should not stop the advertisements of trusted coins.

Every forms of scam dwell more on Facebook probably because security mechanism of the platform is loose, it is a good measure by Facebook, they should scrutinize ads before display.

Now I think differently. Facebook should not do it. Cryptocurrency world is huge. They should allow trusted coin advertisements and for "unknown/new airdrops/just started" coins or tokens or websites they can bound a requirement to show their money is escrowed which people can get via airdrop hunting or similar trust proofs that site is not scam.

It is better it is ban temporarily for the Facebook team to scrutinize the legit Crypto currencies dealers from the scam ones probably through KYC or other means of verification then lift the ban for the legit ones.

Its the same with YouTube. Its very difficult to see a crypto ads on those platforms. I myself have never really seen one of them. Maybe they'll trying to block crypto due to the numerous frauds involved in it. With so many people using those platforms if crypto is exposed then they'll be more chances of people being scammed.
I am very sure both YouTube and Facebook will key into Crypto currencies soon, their ban policy on Crypto is too strict , it Should have been gradual.

Aside Crypto currencies activities don't you know criminals perpetrate evils on Facebook too, Facebook should have allow ban for some selected ads so that people can be more confident about the people they see in the business.

These two platforms don't support nor adopt the cryptocurrencies as payment channel. They only rely on real currencies or "fiats". Facebook has also its own cryptocurrency which will be Libra.

Too many scams on Facebook these days , some of my friend got ripped off plenty times I think its a good move atleast it will reduce the scams
Simply because there is a large number of prey here for the scammers. Also, reports here needs to be evaluated before doing an action onto it. I did try to report a scam page but no action at all. They might need more users to report before doing so.

Scam is almost every social media platforms, not only Crypto currencies but also in Fiat currencies too, people loosing million for dollars daily to scammers. I just hope Facebook didn't ban Crypto currencies because of scam .
