Match-fixing is becoming more common with the rise of gambling apps, according to a Bloomberg report. Score manipulation through bribery, bogus penalties, and deliberate errors are also becoming more common.

Sports betting has been made an offence in sports like cricket for the same reasons; according to many sports personalities, the boards of other sports also need to understand this.

What are your views?

I would actually say not really , but I believe that sport betting is actually making the sport more popular because many people would obviously find out and have more interest in sports through betting and others

The issue of whether sports betting can lead to corruption or negatively impact the integrity of the sport is complex and multi-faceted.
However, it should be noted that sports betting does not necessarily lead to corruption, and most players and teams follow ethical standards. The decisive factor is the control system, effective regulatory measures and responsible behavior of members of the sports community.

While sports betting can provide opportunities to finance sporting events and generate interest in competition, it is important to maintain a balanced and ethical approach to this practice to minimize the risks of corruption and preserve the integrity of the sport.

To some extent sport betting is one of the reason why people follow different sport closely even though these sport are entertaining but sport betting is an additional increase but in most cases, it has its own negative effect.

I have heard that some big bettors could purchase a match to a custom result in the match that what happens exactly in most of the time especially if they bet high amount of money on a single bet and need to win especially businessmans.

Sports betting can actually corrupt sports as many people who are influential can determine the outcome of a match. It does not actually allow the best team to win a match. There are so many fixed matches across the major league of the world. And such things could be discouraged from happening...

I think only corrupted in football can be UEFA and FIFA. They get bribe for for hosting world championships and other tournaments. They don't sanction clearly set games like case France against Ireland when Henry score goal with hand or Barcelona against Chelsea.

Yes , it does corrupt the originality of the sports. For example , the test cricket which is the original form of cricket has seen a declining number of fans when you compare T20 or T10 cricket matches nowadays because people prefer placing their sports bet on these shorter form of cricket matches , so it just kills the test match cricket which is actually the gentleman's game. Match fixing reports have also been there since ages.

There are lots of corruption going on in the world of sports. The world football body has been bedevilled with bribery allegations. I have seen big clubs in Europe and america involved in match fixing and it does not go well with the sports...

Of course, sports betting is indirectly corrupting the sports world, because most sports investors see it as a very good opportunity to manipulate and milk money out of the system, it is the game of the highest bidder goes home with the money.

I do hear match fixing but I don't want to believe this. I still go with the fact that a player can be paid to not score goal. But the one I don't agree is the correct score.
But anyways, it is real because I have read news of how some sports men are been sued for match fixing.

Yeah , the big people usually involve in corruption in major sports like football or cricket. These sports are meant to be a form of entertainment to the people but match fixing just lowers down the reputation of any sport played and watched worldwide.

It has become a major problem in sports business. There are people who are very wealthy and they use their money to control and influence the outcome of some matches. They are usually gamblers who spend lots of money in sports betting..

Yes for sure. I like betting but it should be fair and more regulated but unfortunately, football is a business and surely many games are fixed every year. This is not good for the sport and it disappoints the fans. I say this with certainty that collusion exists even at the highest level of sports

Sports betting can actually corrupt sports. The reason being that most influecers are very wealthy and can pay any amount of money to fix matches. When the best team do not win a match, it is corruption..
