Here in India Gambling is not legal. The lottery system was stopped several years ago and nowadays there are many apps which allow people to bet on sports. Is betting not a gamble?

Anyways, don't you think betting should be legalised or gambling should be legalised? What is the issue if a person is gambling with his/her own money?

And what difference does it make to whom, in fact, you will bet via the Internet (or is it tracked by you?). But before you do this and turn it into a source of permanent income, you need to understand and understand the world of sports! Otherwise, it's just entertainment, and you have to pay for it. It will turn out like in a casino: you placed a bet, pressed a button, and then how lucky.

Well, I also believe that gambling should never be considered as a regular source of income. In fact, since I am a Muslim myself, I would never gamble as gambling is prohibited by my religion. Gambling makes many people lose money and they usually become addicted to it and then have a harder time quitting it.

It is a responsible and responsive government that always warn its ciitizens not to gamble. After all, your loss will not in any way affect the government. But surely, it may affect other citizens. A gambler may be depressed as a result of constant losing, he may even result into stealing to get more money for gambling.

The psychological effect could emanate from betting most especially if losses has been recorded consecutively. It could erupt an unfavorable events that could make a bad turn in one's life and that is why it is crucial to always gamble with caution if you need to.
How many would follow this rule? We don't always bet based on precautionary method. People either beg to win big or they bet to recover their lost money. This has undoubtedly led many to have involved in unsaying things. The fact is that it will be better to try to stay away from gambling.

There was a time government in my country made a law that regulated betting and pegged the legal age at 18. But the fact is that the law was not followed. These days, you can see any age playing bet. But they are always feel safer playing online because it reveals their identities.

There's nothing wrong with betting on sport. Its another way of making money and a lot of people are making money from it. The only downside is that its very risky playing bet. It can waiste your money and make you bankrupt.

It is mandatory to avoid underage betting and this is why the government of so many countries made a barrier on limitations of bettors. In order to bet, you must be above a certain age which is highly dependable on the laws made by each and every country.
But what of the online arena? People that are even under the legal age can lie to get themselves registered. After all, no betting sites always ask for pictures. So it will be impossible for the online betting sites to know the real age of the punters. Is there a way this can be known or checkmated as well?

Sports betting obviously carries a significant risk. There must be a possibility that you could lose the money you put on the line when you bet on sports. Even on absolute favourites, winning is never certain. Sports are ultimately just too unpredictable. Improbable events are mostly not possible, but they actually happen quite regularly.

Unfortunately, betting has become part of life. It is hardly you see a country that's not into betting especially the youth. The government seems lackadaisical about this act. It seems they have allowed the citizens to do whatever they like with their money. I wish there is proper orientation about this.

It depends on your tolerance level. If you are frugal and hardly sleep over loss of money, bet will be harmful to your overall wellbeing. If you have the mindset that high risk is necessary to be successful, you can burn your money on bet, maybe one day luck will smile on you.
There are professional gamblers that depends on gambling for their daily sustenance. You can make money through bet but you must be super smart to beat the bookmarkers

@magnus2022 , Do you think perpetual losers will not fed up one day or even involve in some dubious or illegal ways just to get money to bet? There is no way to gambling other the fact that it is not to be encouraged. Even if luck smile on us, it will be to the disadvantage of some that may have lost all what they have?

Government tax this betting companies heavily. And the government is not really interested in the masses but in accumulation of money. I don't think there is any government that is morally concerned for the masses .

Every thing in life depends on perception. If you see betting as gambling, it will be gambling for you. If you see it as a trade, it will be trade for you. There are professional gamblers that are making thousands of dollars monthly only on betting. There are few ways you can use to make money with betting. One way you can use to make money with betting is called betting exchange. Google about it.

That's true. The government doesn't bother at all if a person is losing or winning from betting. The only thing is they get their tax when someone wins a bet. Recently one of my colleagues won a bet (dream 11) and had to lose a good amount of money as tax. So the government does mind stopping these betting apps. It's us who should think if we should bet or not.

Do they tax punters in your country, @Sanjee ? This is very inhumane. The betting company should be taxed and not the users. Government should only tax if they are providing any soft landing for any users that lose. If they can not help the losers while collecting from the winners?

That's the sad part of it. I agree when they can't help the losers they should tax the winner. This is how the government works. How is it in your country? Is the winning amount taxable there too?

Government doesn't task the punters. Whether you are playing offline or you are playing online, you don't need to be afraid of being taxed. The company will be responsible for your tax. Is there online betting in your country, if yes, how will government tax online punters?

The only thing that's wise about betting is to always predict and bet on something or sport that you know very well. It might not be football sometimes, it might be volleyball, basketball or tennis. I've seen people winning millions from betting on tennis games
