Do you think bicycle selling business is lucrative in the rural area?we just enter a family meeting last night on business to open for my younger brother but he chose to operate a bicycle shop,you need to think twice before such possible action is made recall that this is village and I dont think the business will move here but he insisted.please what is your opinion do you think bicycle business will move in the rural area?

Yeah, you are right buddy. During the pandemic of COV-19, it seems life in the rural areas was still somehow normal as compared to the life in the cities. This means that most small scale businesses were not affected that much.

It all depends on whether or not there's an enough public transportation facility in the area. You don't have to sell it exclusively only in rural area since people are using bicycle even in big cities.

Some points that i think can be useful:
1. Start with small number of bicycles, so if the business failed the loss will be little
2. Debt some bicycles from someone to sell, so if the business failed the loss will be little
3. Think about renting bicycles
4 . Read some business books before starting
5 . Live some days in that area if you're not living there, to estimate the demanding of bicycles there.

I really agree with that no. 3. This on its own is a business that is lucrative in some places. The op can consider renting out bikes along with selling them.

Yeah, you are right buddy. I think the profit in doing this bicycle business depends strongly on the area. In some countries, like the developed countries, they place less value on using bicycle and this will mean that those places do not support the bicycle business. But in the less developed countries, they place high value on using bicycle and this means that the business will do well in those areas.

Yes, this is very true and practical. The nature of the country's economy mostly determine how lucrative and profitable the bicycle business will be. That means the poor the country, the more bicycle business becomes lucrative and the more developed a country is, the less bicycle business becomes less lucrative.

In a community where I lived in the 90s bicycles dominate because it was cheaper but when more money opportunity came most people upgraded to motorcycle, bicycles are meant for children in that environment now so selling kids bicycle will be lucrative there

iI agree with you, it depends on environment,for you to sell such you would have know the need of the environment, but since is mostly used in rural, is a lucrative business, but it depends on the environment

I just watched a video on youtube that now in germany bike lane is larger that before because now there are more people go biking

I don't think it's a good idea except if the people in the area is bicycle minded, using bicycle as the main transportation i mean.
If the area is a tourist place then renting a bicycle would be a better option.

Totally agree with you mate. It's not really a good idea, except if the mode of transportation is mainly bicycle.. that's when it's acceptable

It is very profitable not doubt I have something to tell you the business depend on which location you sited it and I can also tell you that when you start this business newly its going to cost you alot of money ranging from space rental to the investment amount which you will use to buy those item in.

Yea its better I have something to tell you if you are into this business there is no way you can stay without having money in your account I know corona really affected many things but the problem is that you need to site the business in a good area

That's very correct. In case the cost of renting a space is high in good areas, one may start up at home and do proper advertisement to drive traffic to the location of the business.
