There are many different systems that are in place in various countries, in terms of their financial infrastructure, however I think that in the broader scheme of things we are able to narrow this down to two main categories, namely those that are centralized and controlled and those that are decentralized like cryptocurrency. In a recent news article it seems that according to recent analysts at blockdata, the defi system could be set to be a one trillion dollar industry.
