Since the launch of the first ever cryptocurrency Bitcoin in 2009 by the anonymous Satoshi Nakamoto, there has been a lot of skepticism around cryptocurrencies, what they really are, where their value comes from,if they are really assets or a giant pyramid scheme or bubble.
In recent years we have come to understanding that crypto are appreciating assets(as they meet the criteria of what an asset is) but its still not yet understood if they are real assets
Now Warren Buffet, the Greatest investor of all time recently said cryptocurrencies are not real assets as they produce nothing and also the investor investing in them owns nothing but just a digital representation of fake assets.
This statement really sent shivers into the crypto space and now some agree and understand that crypto is just speculation
This is further confirmed by the fact that crypto is zero sum,in order for one to make profit one has to lose that money on the other side

I understand very well that the speculative nature of cryptocurrency could bring about fear of missing out and that is why many people see it as a pyramid scheme where only the people that adopted it earlier would gain from it.

The debate on weather cryptocurrency is a real asset depends on individual preferences and it also has a lot to do with your risk tolerance because investment in cryptocurrency has a lot of risk attached.

This is often the topic of discussion among people that don't really know anything about cryptocurrencies or those that entered the markets ignorantly and got burnt. However, we all know it's no pyramid scheme provided you put your head and mind into it.
