Cracked is a website online that deals with comedy. Over the years this site has grown in popularity and features some of the most bizarre articles and interesting facts you can read about. What I love about this site is the fact they only use the freelance writer to write all their content. The site features very long lists of different events that are actually really funny or even articles about things you had no idea about at all. Anyone can write for Cracked as long as you follow the procedure and the team of Cracked loves your idea. Considering this site is so popular if you'd like to write for them you'll need to be an excellent content writer with a good English grammar background. They won't accept your article if it is filled with tons of errors or mistakes.

How It Works:
  • You must first join the site writers' forum in order to write for them.
  • You need to write up a pitch to the company and post your pitch in the workshop on the forum. Keep in mind this is a pitch and not the full article. You'll need to make this pitch good in order to pass by the committee who reviews these.
  • The editorial team committee will hold a meeting to go over all the pitches it has received.
  • The approval is based on your research and formatting and the insight you give to the team in your pitch. The editorial team will review your pitch, see if it needs more work, or it is a good fit for the site.
  • You will get this back and asked to make some changes. Each article that is accepted needs to be 2000 words long. If your article is rejected, it will be removed from the editorial team and placed back in the workshop. The editorial team will explain why they did this. You can revise your article and try again.
Write Your Pitch:
  • There is a strict format to follow when writing a pitch. You must follow this format. You'll start off with a mind-blowing title. The title is what will make the people look at your pitch and read the pitch.
  • They require that you supply them with 6 entries to back up your title.
  • You'll need the subtitle to each entry and 3 to 5 sentences to back this up. You'll also need to list a reliable source. They want something besides a free source. So you must dig deep on this one.
  • You can do an observation pitch about something that you saw. In these pitches, you don't always need a source to back this up.
  • Pitches should be under 1600 words long. It has to be nicely formatted. You can find some great examples on the forum if you read the pitches in the workshop and the editorial section. You can see how people have done this.
  • The site also has a "quick fix" that you can write about. These are much shorter and don't take as much work.
How Much Do They Pay?
  • 2000 word articles pay $100. If you write 4 or more in a year the price has increased to $200.
  • 10 most popular articles earn a $50 bonus.
  • Short Quick Fix article earns $50
Personally, I love this site and have subscribed to it. I was thinking of writing for the site but have never found the time to do all the research necessary. Has anyone ever tried this site before?

This is a top site on humour and everyone is free to join to submit articles. It pays quite well but your article summary has to pass through several stages of intense scrutiny and you have to be steely to keep going though this is never announced on the site but a prospective writer has to reckon with it. For this reason, its good to consider it as a side gig and a good place to test your mettle with high earning potential.

I think this article writing site should be in paid to write section. I still like the description of the site. What payment processor do they accept? Do they pay immediately or there is a minimum amount one needs to reach?

I like Article posting sites to make some side cash easily but i never join in any site that test writing skills as my grammar is weak but i know that not every human beings is perfect .i myself never visited postloop, mylot, theforumforwheel,
etc , as they all take test i hate site like this, thanx !!.

mylot doesn't need tests but is very low. No one's grammar is perfect. You should really try forumwheel and once you have enough experience, you can try postloop. I think you should believe in your English.

I have never been good in English even in school especially high-school but aslong as I can explain something, I know I can write. I still think you shouldn't quit a site because of tests.

I like article posting sites too but once I found some scam sites so its hard for me to trust. This sounds a legit site though I'm not sure about it.

This seems to be a fun site to join. Thank you for sharing about it. I will like to know more about the minimum payment, pay rate and payment processors. Are you a member on this site? Have you earned on there?

I have been a member of this site for a number of years. I enjoy the articles they send me to read. I have never written for them, but the writers who do are good.

You must submit an outline and a description of what you want to write. It has to be a take on an even with a humorous side to it. Basically, you are taking a real event such as horror movie directors. You need to research about them, find out all you can, then find out what a few of them have in common. You really need to do a lot of work for this site, but once you write for them it really gets your foot in the door to write for other sites.

You have a lot of work to do to get your article acccepted by this company. So be prepared to do the work because they do pay well. I totally enjoy reading the articles on this site. They give you a completely different outlook on behind the scenes events and things about life.

I know what it takes to work with sites like this,I might write for them.now, the best option is to read the site daily and acclimatise oneself with the pattern of writing and when one is convince one can do same then one can start writing for the site since the pay well.

You are so right about this. I know they do list some people who want to write for them, their ideas and what they have supplied. It may take a few tries to get it right, but in in the end it is well worth the effort you have put into the article you wrote there.

I am just seeing this. It would have been much more better if you had some payment proofs to show because that is one among the ways people normally check to know whether a site is legit or not. You posted this on wednesday, hopefully you would come back with some payment proofs.

Cracked has now a new writing opportunity that isn't as strict as this one. It is part of the site now and you only need to write 120 words I believe. I haven't been there in a bit, but this one looked promising and it is worth checking out. This is a lot easier to write and get your stuff accepted on it.

I guess that is where most of us get it wrong by jumping in to the site without proper or reasonable information about the site, each site as it own pattern of writing which we must understand. Your suggestion or opinion is impressive

I think the biggest problem on here is people are looking for an easy site to work on that pays well. Furthermore, on a site like Cracked you won't see any payment proof ever unless a person had his article published. That is what makes a lot of people not trust a site like this. These types of sites you can only follow along and receive emails for their latest post. However, if you have a brilliant idea and can do enough research you can present this to the site. They have a panel that reviews all this and will either accept, decline, or think about your idea. Only when it is accepted is when you have a chance to be paid if you do an excellent job of writing it up.

This is my first time to hear this and I think I will not settle for this because this maybe a scam or whatnot :(

I'm so sorry but this site isn't a scam at all. Furthermore, they have added a few easier ways to earn money from this site. This company has been around for years and has one of the top reputations online for paying people to write for them. Yes, they are very strict and require you to go through a several step process in order to write for the company. I don't agree with your statement at all about this site being a scam. So sorry you feel this way.

* I had to revisit this site. Heard about it years ago and when I first checked, it just was not my cup of tea. What was passed off as humor wasn't my idea of funny. But everybody has their ow taste. When I visited the site recently (as of 2018) I was a little bit more interested in the content that was presented there. Nevertheless, it's a "comedy" site and you still need to be a little "weird and strange" in your thinking (my opinion). For that reason, I don't think the type of content I write would be suitable for this site.

Not everyone can write for a site like this. The acceptance process is quite strict. You have several steps to follow in order to write for them. You'll need to present your ideas, a group of people votes on them, they decide if your idea is fit for the site or not, if it is, then you write it up. Otherwise, you go on and submit another idea. It is a bit difficult to be accepted and your idea liked. However, it does happen and people earn quite well on this site.
