Coinbase Reviews.jpg

Coinbase
Coinbase is one of the world's biggest digital currency wallet/exchange that support storing, transacting and trading of cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin etc. It one of the oldest begineer entry cryptocurrency exchange which support buying and selling of cryptocurrency directly with a connected Bank account or other payment methods.
Coinbase is a San Francisco based exchange and was founded in 2012 by Brian Armstrong and Fred Etrsam as part of Ycombinator. Coinbase started as Bitcoin Broker, selling Bitcoin directly to customers but over the years has added alot of services along the way making it one of the most reliable crypto exchange out there.
Coinbase currently has over 20 million users from all around the world with over $150 Billion worth of cryptocurrencies traded. Also Coinbase was able to raise $217 million from world leading investors like Ycombinator, Andreessen Horowitz, USV, USAA and more making it one of the most reputable crypto exchange with lots of external backing.

Coinbase support trading of BTC, ETH, LTC, BCH, ETC and more. Users can deposit using either Wire Transfer or Debit/Credit card.

It is important to note that Coinbase is a fully licensed and regulated KYC/AML complaint exchange, you are required to undergo identity verification before you can make use of it service.
Currently Coinbase support and fully operate in 32 different countries across Asia, Europe, North America and Australia.

Pros:
1. Begineer Friendly: This is one point where Coinbase really shines, it's is one of the most recommended beginner entry cryptocurrency wallet/exchange cause one does not need to know how to trade to buy and sell cryptocurrency on the platform using ones bank account. Coinbase is mostly regarded as one of the best exchange for beginners to trade Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, It interface is very clean, Intuitive and easy to navigate.
Coinbase also provides a mobile app available for both Android and iOS.
2. Reputation: Coinbase is one of the oldest reliable exchange out there with millions of users and it backed by reputable organizations. Coinbase is also one of the few cryptocurrency exchange that is protected by insurance.
3. Security: Coinbase takes careful security measures to ensure optimal security of users funds. According to it website, about 98% of customer funds are stored in offline storage and distributed in safe deposit boxes in different geographical location all around the world.
Two factor authentication (2FA) is also available for adding extra layer of security to user accounts.
4. Merchant API: Coinbase provides a well documented API allowing online merchant to accept cryptocurrency on their website.

Cons:
1. It Not Available Globally: Coinbase is only available in a very limited amount of countries which spread across few continent.

Based on my research, Coinbase is a legit exchange, the only major disadvantage is that it's not available in most countries. If your country is also not supported, i recommeded you to checkout Luno which is quite similar to Coinbase but support a larger number of countries.

Do you have an account here? What's your experience?

Coinbase is well know in crypto world, which was adopted by huge pepole , as now I n India, still can't buy waiting for there launch in india, coinbase got a great reputation.
Is this unavailable in india? I have heard coinbase is available is 32 countries before hearing that I thought coinbase is international.

Today, when I have checked my Coinbase wallet,I found there an announcement, that Coinbase is giving the same amount of Bitcoin Cash,as you had amount of Bitcoin in your wallet,on 1 August.

Does it mean they are giving it for free or it also introduced bitcoin cash, cos the last time i checked my wallet i didnt see such gift

Coinbase is giving the same amount of Bitcoin Cash,as you had amount of Bitcoin in your wallet,on 1 August.
Same happen with Blockchain, just yesterday sold it, at first I had $15 worth of Bitcoin Cash and in 3 days it went to $19 and I sold it to a member here for PayPal cash.

now you know, avoid to use credit/debit card to buy directly bitcoin in romania.

Maybe thats why Coinbase does not want to support countries with such internal regulations from central bank (not laws given by parliament but "laws" given by central bank where other banks have to obey).
I think Bitstamp does not support Romania too.
Maybe thats why such websites with possible feature "purchase/sell with your card" does not include Romania and some other countries.

I've just read your comment randomly now and I have to thank you. I had no idea why Coinbase didn't allow me to buy anything with my credit card, but it seems they're just doing this due to our absurd laws.. I didn't even wonder this restriction exists, but in Romania nothing surprises me anymore :Sorry:

i think coinbase is the number 1 ! in case of ranking of crptocurrency wallets! and they have a Lots members , and they are Already Featured in international Elite medias , but i just Dont like them beacuase they Dont offered thier Services Worldwide! and they Only supporting 32 countries! they must Expand thier business, beacuse medias gaving them limelight!

the only problem with coinbase would be that they request personal details and identity confirmation (like most sites where you can buy cryptocurrencies, actually). I know this is the law, but it is a bit contradictory considering that one of the cryptocurrencies main characteristics should be the anonimity you have in transactions

Yet coinbase is not available in India to use, although it allows Indians to create coinbase account, but buy and sell facility is not available; and coinbase behaves like a bank so all online deposit is in their hand.

the same happens in Romania, I was able to create an account but wasn't able to do anything with it. I don't see why they even allow creating accounts from all countries if operations are not available in some of these countries

Coinbase is cheating people, it is already like a bank, and you can do nothing what you deposit. Users have to move to other wallets, but any deposit in coinbase can neither be transferred, nor sold.

Coinbase works like cryptocurrency bank and not really a wallet, and due to this all deposits comes under it's own control. We cannot deposit large amount. Also when it do not support many countries, then it should not be taking deposit from users of those countries.

Couple days I found out this wallet Coinbase is not available in my country Romania
It is available for following countries only:
Singapore, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Jersey, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, San Marino, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Canada, United States.

Coinbase allows people worldwide to deposit their cryptocurrencies, however it do not allow all people to 'use' it. And due to it's control over private keys, people lose their deposited cryptocurrencies.

I have used my funds from the Coinbase wallet.I have sent Bitcoins to someone else, and I could even make a cash out.It is not possible to sell or buy with Coinbase,if the account is not verified, but you can do other things,as mentioned above.

If coinbase allows transfer of cryptocurrencies, then it is fine to use it till you get some other wallet. Coinbase is desktop wallet, so we have to download it.

I didn't have to download the Coinbase...Though I have had some funds in Xapo, and they require to download the application on the phone, and I don't really understand that when there are so many wallets online, who don't require that.

Coinbase is not a wallet, it is a bank for cryptocurrency and you do not keep hold of your coins in Coinbase. This works well for 32 countries, but others do not do much with it.
