Hello, I want to open a personal blog on a domain and a paid host that I want to monetize in the future if I have the opportunity. I was looking a lot for a niche that I can focus on and like what I do only because at the moment it is very difficult to make room for yourself. One of my passions is to read personal development books and I was thinking of opening a site to write about the topics I read. In the articles I want to combine both my personal opinion and examples or passages from those books. Can I be charged with copyright infringement? I bring a personal vision and obviously change the structure but I will also give examples from books such as steps to follow or statistics. I know that it is already a very developed niche and it is difficult to make my place on google, can seo help me to grow in rank or does it just depend on how well I advertise my site?

You can use them as an example or basics. Using a part is not affect your site rank. However, there is a writing option in the WordPress or any other platform that is

If you use this arrow option in your article, readers can easily understand that it's from other resources.
Google algorithm is now more updated, now they would easily recognise the copy/paste article and a good article.

Most at times if you are going to use a quote or some pages from somebody's book and you quote them correctly you are not going to be in any kind of trouble. You should go and extra mile though to read about what they also feels about reproducing his content and if it means reaching out to them then you should do so appropriately.

The truth is that the online space is one that allows a lot of creativity and you are definitely not supposed to feel bad if somebody is going to use your post as a reference provided that they did not just copy it word for word. You can be able to report them to their hosting service or Google is going to reduce their ranking whenever it is detected that they copied from me.
