I'm not sure how much would be best to invest in crypto, if I choose to do so. Part of me thinks play it safe and invest only 20 or so, wait a while, observe the markets........ then add small increments of 50 or so each month if the market appears to be good. Also, most importantly, when is the best time to withdraw/sell? What are some signs that crypto is at a peak.

The amount to invest in bitcoin is a personal decision depending on what you can afford at that time. Just remember that the higher the amount, the higher the profits. I like the idea of starting with a small amount then adding more as time goes by and the price continues to increase.

The total money you have at hand will be decisive in helping you make your choice, your spare money should be the money you choose to trade with and be ready to accept the outcome.
If I have 100 dollars I know that I can spare 10 dollars without feeling bad, that's the viable option.

I think as a first time investor it is better to start up with funds that you can lose so that it wont affect your psychology and business mindset if it didn't work out as planned. Starting with anything above 5$ is okay and you can grow with it. buy and sell strategy is okay for a start and you still make small profit at the end without losing it all.

We are always advised to invest what we can afford to lose but this does not really mean that you have to invest less than $1 because this won't be profitable to you in any way even if bitcoins has to increase by 10,000 percent . to be able to make money as an investor you need to invest at least something reasonable.

It won't be advisable for a beginner in the cryptocurrency market to start by investing in Bitcoin. This is because the coin already attained so much value and so you will be needing a relatively high amount to get started with and this might not actually end well.
So you could try other alticoins as your aim as a beginner shouldn't be to earn profits but to learn how the market actually works.

There is always a popular saying that you can be able to make investment in Bitcoin every bit as low as $1.00 to invest with the amount that you can afford to lose. In as much as that is very true I will also like to state categorically that you should save money to invest into bitcoin and be sure that any gains that you are going to be making it something that is going to be worthwhile.
