i was always wondering how does adblock earn money, and if the advertising networks such as adsense are fine with that, because adblock prevents you from checking ads which is a loss for them .

They don't earn money if the ads are blocked. That's why websites start putting anti adblockers and some large companies (like Google, Microsoft, Amazon and etc) paid Adblock Plus to whitelist their site. Some ad networks have ads that can even bypass the adblocker.

Many of adblockers operate through donations from supporters. And obviously, Ads networks are not okay with any adblocker since their revenue will be reduced.

i noticed that too! But i guess that should be illegal, it's lile threatening companies to give you money or their ads won't be appearing for users

Problem with ads nowadays is that some of the website owners are putting way too much ads (not to mention some of them are probelmatic) on their websites so people resorting to use adblockers.

But i guess that should be illegal

Well, I notice that even Google through their Adsense network are sometimes promoting HYIPs or scam investments in their ads so it should be made illegal first to promote such scam that may harm users.

Advertising networks are never fine with ads blocker because it prevent their ads from showing up thus making them unable to earn from ads clicked by the site user.

Yes I agree, too much ads is too much. Especially problematic ads with adult pics on it to gain interest, hella embarrassing to see on public space & scam investments are really annoying. Back then i didn't understand why people do so but now that I'm into online earning I understand that they just want to gain profit as much as possible by throwing ads here and there.

Yeah, I realized that too. It either the website resist the adblocker or your access to the site will be denied. I think it a fair because blocking their ads won't earn them anything and that's what that give them the motivation to provide quality contents.

True , however some sites have very annoying ads set up. The ads barely allow you to do anything ,and people are not comfortable with it.

Adblocker is not good for the webmasters as it blocks ads that are been shown on there website from the vistors that has the adblocker software installed.
But there are ways to stop users that uses adblocker and that is by using anti adblocker. This will notify them to remove the adblocker before accessing the website

Some ad networks employ techniques to detect and prevent ad blockers from blocking advertisements. Displaying messages encouraging users to disable their ad blockers, for example, or restricting access to material until the ad blocker is disabled, are examples of such methods.

Most advertising networks are not fine with adblock. Adblock prevents ads from being displayed on websites, which means that publishers and advertising networks lose out on revenue. Some advertising networks may even penalize publishers who have high adblock rates

I'm unsure how AdBlock earns money, probably from donations/charity. If the software is open source and community based then it's moved by ideology, so it's the same as how Linux keeps developing while it's free. Indeed ad networks dislike ad blockers though, because it will hurt everyone's revenue. So it's a constant battle between ad networks and ad blockers, and we can see how YouTube started to make anti ad blocker that disables users who use them.
